This Sunday's full-page newspaper ad in the Sunday's Brownsville Herald where incumbent Cameron County District Attorney Luis V. Saenz take issue with challenger Carlos Masso over a mailer attributed to a victims rights group that charged Saenz failed to prosecute a La Feria teacher on at least 13 cases of sexual abuse.
Although there is no proof that Masso is behind the Victims United For Justice group, Saenz pictures him on top of the ad with a Pinocchio-like nose.
In his response, Saenz says that since Jan. 1, 2013, NO ONE has been accused of abusing 13 children."
That flies in the face of news reports and taped testimony by one of the the fathers of some of the victims at the school.
Were there 8 or 9 or more? And does it really matter how many others there were if the victims' group asserst the man was not prosecuted.?

Obviously, neither the victims nor the parents were satisfied with the performance of the Da or his staff that they would go to the extreme step of asserting their charges on a taped interview.

After seeing this, is Saenz right in asserting that Masso is "desperate and dishonest?"
Or is it the other way around?

A pre-kindergarten aide at a South Texas elementary school has been terminated after he was accused of sexually abusing six students, drawing one charge of aggravated sexual assault against a four-year-old student.
La Feria police officers arrested Jonathan Flores, a 45-year-old teacher at Sam Houston Elementary School, after the La Feria Independent School District officials learned of the allegations last week, the Brownsville Herald reported.
Flores' alleged victim confirmed on video that Flores touched her inappropriately following an examination by a certified sexual assault nurse examiner, according to a police affidavit.
The school district told the Herald that officials notified Child Protective Services, removed Flores from the classroom and suspended the teacher before terminating him.
Flores was released from Cameron County Jail on a $70,000 bond, but a warrant on the five remaining accusations has been issued, KGBT reported.

Luis Saenz is crying foul when he and his brother started a hate page against Carlos Masso way before called TheTruth on face book. This is our DA acting like a kid along with his bully brother. How can a DA put an article making fun of a candidate face. If he has proof he didn't prosecute those cases then why didn't he just state the docket number for people to do their homework, but noo he chose to lie like always.
Is this the kind of DA you want for another 4 years? A DA that lies because he feels he can. A DA that thinks he is above the law?
I for one will not vote for Luis Saenz.

As a victim myself I find it appauling that someone who takes on the mantle of representing the people of the county would not pursue these allegations. If this happens again he will own it. What if it were your children. No wonder these things vs continue to flourish . No consequences. Then some wonder why people don't want to put their children through this and tend to take care of it themselves since those who should Dont.
