VMS ONLINE VIDEO TIES FOR 3RD WITH "SHOP WITH A COP"

(Ed.s Note: Newly hired multimedia journalist on general assignment Raul Garcia Jr. was awarded a third place in the category of daily newspapers in division 2A of the Texas Press Association for best video longer than two minutes.
Garcia works in the Cameron County area for VMS in a brief email he said he appreciated the honor of receiving the AP award.
"I'm very proud of this achievement and then I have work hard in learning video editing and digital mobile journalism over the last few years," he said.
I joined the Valley Morning Star in late October 2015 . The story was posted last December and it was chosen by my editors for competition in the 2016 Associated Press managing editor's awards competition. The video tied for third place with submissions by the McAllen Monitor and the Austin American Statesman. His proud dad, Raul Sr., is a grants administrator with Cameron County.
