Special to El Rrun-Rrun
Once upon a time there was a very small village with lots of people in it.
People lived, grew up, married, and had little ones. For the most part they grew up to be decent folks of the hard working variety, just folks, and that is what they called themselves.
But sometimes even in the best of families sometimes the children grew up to be loud, obnoxious and most unpleasant. These Very Unpleasant People were variously despised and pitied, but for the most part avoided.
The Just Folks went along with their business of working and paying taxes which they considered a small price to pay for the most part for not having to listen to the moaning and braying of the Very Unpleasant People.
On one of the days there was supposed to be a parade. They were scheduled from time to time and there were posters and many official notices everywhere about the upcoming parade.
“We don’t have a wagon and the Very Unpleasant People always insist very loudly and snootily, I might add, that you have to have a wagon for a parade”, said one of the Just Folks.

Another answered, “I never cared much for them and their wagons. It is a very pleasant day, why don’t we just walk instead?”
As they started down the middle of the street, friends would call from the side walk, “What are you doing?”
“We are having a parade! Come join us!” was their reply.
Their neighbors and friends and their families smiled and joined the parade. Sometimes one of the Just Folks would ask, “Why are we all parading?” and they were answered, “Because we want to.” So the ranks of the parade swelled as Just Folks from all over joined in the cheerful throng.
As the parade wound down at the park, the children ran ahead to play.

One of the Just Folks said to another, “You know, my mom told me I was special.” He was answered: “Mine did too! I was very special to her.”
We hope you had a great port and college election and a happy Mother’s Day.
