For over eight months I had been trying to go through Open Records requesting Eddie Trevino's legal fees paid by PUB, with no success.Eddie has been hiding by using smoke and mirrors claiming the fee disclosure should not be available through open records, as it is sensitive and competitive.
However, I was finally able to verify his legal fees with no help from the Attorney General and the total sum he has collected is $1,395,000 smackaroos.
One Million Three Hundred Ninety Five Thousand Dollars as a simple Board attorney that is hired like (City Attorney Mark E.) Sossi to oversee the board meeting compliance and open records.
(Sossi, by the way, has been paid some $1.26 million for his "services' over the last seven years.)
Eddie collected $1,395,000 from 2013 thru 2015, not including 2016.
If Eddie did not have PUB as a client, he would probably starve, which is why Eddie wants to be County Judge.

Eddie Trevino wants to be County Judge because he cares about the community. Were people expecting Eddie to work for PUB for free. If PUB decided to pay him 1Mil good for him! You should be more concerned with why does PUB require such costly legal counsel. Numerous attorneys who represent large corporate entiries earn that kind of money based largely on the type and length of legal counsel they provide a client. If he was paid that amount then it is fair to say that he is representing his client in numerous legal proceedings, most likely lawsuits filed againat PUB by employees, customers, amd third parties. This is always a correlation with the financial posirion of a company and how many lawsuits are diles against them. Ask any attorney that presents or files againat large corporations.

No, as a former mayor and PUB Board member, the lawsuits and other tasks regarding contracts and such were handled by other attorneys whose specialty is with utility matters or lawsuits. The Board attorney mostly focuses on over seeing and advising the PUB Board, along with open records. Eddie has no business mixing his legal services with the TENASKA, as PUB has John Davidson law firm to over see these matters. The present policy is now that if I file for a mundane open records request it must go to Eddie for approval, then Eddie spends a lot of time on this request and bills, then he contacts the Attorney General opposing the request and contacts TENASKA attorneys to get them to join his opposition to my request, which then he bills all this time used to deny my request to protect himself from disclosure to PUB. What a racket he has going for himself.

I am not running for office, so a vote for Dan is not a vote for Pat Ahumada as Anonymous claims, but a vote for Dan is a vote for transparency. Why does Eddie fight to disclose what his fees are at PUB as Board Attorney. Last year he collected $1,230.13 per day for 365 days, which makes up a year. Eddie is the PUB Board attorney, not the PUB attorney. PUB is a utility company and Eddie is not an expert in utilities, which is why PUB has other firms working on utility contracts and matters. PUB belongs to the TML, which handles lawsuits by employees or other type of matters. And, or, the legal matters are farmed out to the proper type of attorney needed. As a BOARD attorney, Eddie oversees that meetings are legally posted, board meetings are legally conducted and advises the board on matters pertaining to the Board. Eddie cannot justify charging PUB $449,000 last year for legal fees, if he could he would have allowed disclosure instead of hiding, which raises the question rhetorically if he can be trusted as County Judge. Eddie tried to get voters to approve payment for his public service as mayor when he knew the position did not pay. Eddie proposed selling PUB, which would be ludicrous because PUB helps keep our property taxes down and keeps all city buildings and parks lit up. PUB is mismanaged under this mayor and the present board, but that is a separate matter. Eddie gave birth to Imagine Brownsville a for profit scam with his good friend Carlos Marin and has been controlling city commissioners who have hurt the city in big ways. Eddie supported subsidies for special interest that exceeded $91 million that PUB rate payers had to pay. Eddie pushed for strip annexation that has created a mess for Port Isabel and San Benito. Eddie went against city charter and pushed and gave a sweetheart contract to Charlie Cabler as city manager in exchange for political support from BPD and Charlie is now telling some city employees to support Eddie and to go to his FB and hit like, because Charlie with the help of Eddie has been scamming Brownsville tax payers as a unqualified city manager who spends his time watching TV instead of moving Brownsville forward. Thanks to Eddie we have Cabler for life and the bad deals like the Casa Nylon all went down with Cabler's approval, just like Imagine Brownsville that has plagued our city since Eddie gave it birth.
