THE WALLS AND TABLES ARE BLUE, THIS MUST BE...HANNA?

"Hail to thee, our Alma Mater
Hail to Hanna High
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater
May your colors fly"
(Ed.'s Note: Let's see. The walls have a brand new stripe of dark blue (navy blue?) paint on top and a section of lighter blue on bottom. The tabletops and accessories waiting to be installed in the "L" pod are matching navy blue. For $200 and a pass-go, which high school are we? Is it Porter? Veterans Memorial? Do not pass. Do not collect $200. It's Hanna High School, home of the Brownsville Golden Eagles. The choice of the blue color scheme left many longtime Eagle fans and BISD maintenance workers scratching their heads. All the rest of the pods sport the familiar gold and brown color scheme, but a new principal to the school apparently decided blue would do in that section's makeover. Will Eagle die-hard fans stand for this apparent affront to their alma mater? Or was it simply an oversight and the district didn't have any gold and brown paint in stock? Dr. Norma Ibarra-Cantu is the interim principal there after serving Dean of Instruction at Lopez Early College High School where staff and students have navy and Vegas gold blood flowing through their veins. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagle fan who sent us this photo says it made his blood [gold and brown] turn blue when he saw the changes.)

At a time when bisd is losing students and losing law suits maybe they had to buy what was cheapest. Besides the school board can use the savings to take trips and wine and dine they front companies that they award the contracts too. Wouldn't be surprised if the pEpson that sold the district these supplies bought them at a ridiculously low price to put more money in their own pockets.

They could of just gone with white primer if they wanted to save money. And a gold or brown stripe, whichever paint is cheaper. I went to Homer Hanna and this is just sorry. Back in the day we would take turns painting our opponent's schools our school color and vise versa. I remember the letter B with green paint and us painting the pace gym yellow. Maybe it was vandalism by the purchasing department or the maintenance guys can't read English and these were porter's supplies.

L-pod looks better now than it has in 30 years, Dr. NIC was not involved in choosing the color scheme.

I remember going to BHS and I had an algebra class in a room painted with high gloss bright yellow. The reflection of the light off those walls made my head hurt and bothered my eyes. I hated looking up at the board. No wonder I had problems in that class. Blue is a cool and calming color. Let's not get so nit picky over the color schemes of the walls and just hope for a successful year for the students. Go Hanna!

Dude, maybe the maintenance guys can not read English, but I am sure there is nothing wrong with their eyesight or ability to follow instructions.
Did you graduate from Hanna? Before you start ridiculing others, look at your own lack of skills. You can not write to save your life.
