WAS FIRE CHIEF LOADING OR UNLOADING PATIENTS AT VRH?

(Ed.'s Note: There was a time when Cameron County Pct. 4 commissioner Dan Sanchez (who later ran for county judge and lost) used to park at the spaces reserved for constables and we ran several photos readers sent us of his car parked in the restricted spaces.

Ditto for Pct. 1 Admin. Asst. Gabino Vasquez, and later, law enforcement personnel who used to park at the spaces reserved for early voting in front of the courthouse.

Just today we posted an item about security guards at the Brownsville Independent School District keeping the handicapped from parking in a space next to the restricted spaces reserved for BIS board members at Sams Stadium. All of them claimed that it was an inconvenience for them to follow the rules as the rest of the people had to do. After all, they were public officials and deserved special treatment.

Well, add another public official who thinks he doesn't have to follow the rules and won't walk a few more yards like the rest of other working stiffs who pay taxes to pay his salary. Our eyes and ears at Valley Regional Hospital on Alton Gloor sent us these photos (actually, six more for good measure) of our Brownsville Fire Chief Carlos Elizondo and a guest (who was not a patient) as they alighted on the space reserved for patient loading and unloading and emerged 25 minutes later with no patient in sight.

And as far as we have been able to gather, there was no emergency at the hospital where the justification that they were there in response to an emergency could apply.

Elizondo's shaved pate is easily identifiable as he locks the truck door next to the sign restricting parking to patient loading and unloading and we suspect that the person who took this photo was a mere mortal who had to park at a more distant space in the parking lot because he or she – unlike the privileged chief and guest – respected the sign.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, and we thank our El RrunRrun reader for the photos.

Was the passenger a city employee? If not that is a no no!

If he was taking someone as an ERV vehicle then he could park in the area in the Emergency room entrance. If he was going to "visit" someone then he should have parked far as the common ordinary person, but remember the "Brownsville Mentality" (as mentioned in another one of your articles). If you are a school board member, fire chief, judge, D.A., or any elected official, you are "above the law". The LAW only applies to the ordinary "jodido" that has no official title.
WE, the ordinary citizen allow them to do this and when they do it we complain or say "bone-up" or "everybody does it" "Oh,its Brownsville".
Unless they are measured with the same measuring stick, we will continue to be a city of "jodidos".

Juanito, please go back to writing things about the civil war and Brownsville history. You must be pretty hard up on beer money to start writing about where people park. Whereas it is universally understood that you draw your readership from provocative and tantalizing rumor, this is beneath even you. I'd like to know where you park, but alas, you probably don't even own a car.

Just like the BISD Trustees need special parking, so does Elizondo. But, remember, he is also on the BISD Board and therefore the mentality can be expected to carry over to his "real" job. Elizondo is a DICK and like to many of our city officials, thinks he deserves "special" consideration.

Fester the chief at it again. Elizondo needz to get some hair implants. He and his wife look like the hispanic version of Fester and Morticia Addams.

Mortisha? Yeah maybe a slutty version of her. Anyone see that photo of her in the black dress? Nasty. Mortisha Addams has style and class, that lady has neither.
