BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Her numerous campaign posters say incumbent Brownsville Independent School District Trustee Minerva M. Pena is for education. It does not say she is for paying property taxes in a timely manner. And maybe that’s why the county tax office shows her as being delinquent on five property accounts to the collective tune of $3,190.13.
This is as of today, October 25th.
Mrs. Pena and her husband, Lupe, a contributor to her re-election bid, are listed as being behind on taxes due for properties at 3201 Coffee Port Road and at 195 N. Iowa.
These are taxes due for the Year 2015 and are shown as follows in county records:

Her hand may have been in the BISD "cookie jar" or under the table in some BISD contract negotiations to allow her to buy five properties, for which she owes property taxes. This is public information and if she can't pay her taxes, BISD is losing....so vote against her.

Shit i owe 4 thousand dollars. I always wait till the last minute. Brownsville taxes are ridiculous high. Minerva you aint the first nor the last. I owe more.

Before commenting or posting things that are also, please investigate to discover the truth. People that own multiple properties can be placed on a payment plan with the Tax Office. How about posting the truth, how Kent Whittimore lives at a condo in South Padre Island and uses his parents address in Brownsville? He says he does that because he pays his parents bills. If the man doesn't live here!! He has no business running for Brownsville ISD Board!
Man Brownsville sucks with the city Taxes!!! The highest taxes in the valley!!
I do not believe that they owe taxes. They are probably on a payment plan. Minerva your always helping and giving to anyone that needs that extra help. The day you leave BISD they will be screwed. You will have more cash in your pocket and i can not believe that you do this as a volunteer you do not get paid for all you do.
