IF YOU GO TO THE COURT, TRY YUMMY CHALUPAS (TOSTADAS?)
(Ed.'s Note: Unless you really have to, no one really likes to go to the Cameron County Courthouse on business. Usually it ends with some department taking your money for fines or this service or another. But such is modern life, we guess. But if it falls on your lot that you have to go there anyway, we have a tantalizing suggestion. On the bottom floor of the judicial side of the courthouse is a coffee shop that has been run by the Rodriguez family since the facility opened. You can have your choice of the Trey Garza Special breakfast flour tortilla taco or the equally delicious Raymond Shears Special. But for our money (actually $6.50) you can have three chalupas [or is it tostadas?] crammed with generous portion of picadillo with beans, lettuce and tomatoes, and topped with loads of cheese and a Gatorade, or any soft drink. Believe us, you won't leave hungry. That's coffee shop manager Sylvia Rodriguez at top before the delightful morsels. Good stuff, girl!)

Don't leave out the bugs ...
Too much cheese. Again. Browntown needs to lose weight and lose Erasmo Castro!
Everything there is real good, my long time favorite is still a plain flour tortilla with butter.
When is the contract over? It needs new people instead of the political side where they constantly get the contract. Make a story on that Juanito!!!!!!!!
Time for the Rodriguez to give up the papita!!!! They are dealing with the commissioner before it goes put for bids they are crooks!!!! Get them out
Best breakfast ever!!
The flour tortillas are delicious!!!
political stronghold, those folks will always have that coffee shop for decades no matter what till they die, last time others offered a high percentage share of
the profits but regardless like the payne dealership says the rodriguez gang won it once again. cca
It's best flour tortillas ancd good breakfast!!
Nepotism at its fullest!!! Isn't she related to county employees who have a "say-so" on who has that concession? They have over stayed their welcome and bids need to go out for another concession operator and NOT someone related to anyone in the county!!! They are too expensive and the food is not that great!
Looks like terrible, artery clogging junk food.
They are all bad news and the one to start off with is with Bobby "Bollas" Rodriguez, then Ernie "El Joto" Rodriguez, the Amadeo "play free DJ for votes" Rodriguez.that family are rats, and scam people.
Any respectful cook knows that chalupas with yellow cheese are Tex-Mex. Authentic Mexican chalupas (which, by the way, should be called TOSTADAS because the chips are called totopos)Either way, not good for our local community that suffers from high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension.
