BEN NEECE QUESTIONS TENASKA "SECRET" DEAL

(Ed.'s Note: As we have noted previously on these pages, something curious happened on the way to build a $500 million gas-powered electric generating plant by the city and private energy provider Tenaska. As the political ad above states (click on graphic to enlarge), no one has been allowed to see the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between PUB, the city and Tenaska.

What we do know is that we have endured huge increases in the cost of utilities and after four years, there is still no plant. In fact, Fitch Ratings has stated that the plant can't be built today because Tenaska has not been able to sell the 600 MWs of electricity it will get from the 800 MW project because of a glut of electricity on the market. And yet, the rates remain high and the money is piling up. We're glad someone has run with the ball on this one and is asking the hard questions.)

Here is what it will come down to, Ben will put pressure on Martinez and demand his fellow commissioners pay attention. john will continue to sit quiet. In all elective bodies we need vibrant debate and questioning. This does not exist on the Brownsville city commission. A major shake up could change a lot. Even one voice raising important questions can change how the votes goes. Remember if Ben wins it will scare Tetreau and Longoria who are being targeted in their elections in two years.

Ben is smart and will do his due diligence before making a fool of himself.

NEECE is not the guy. Voting for Villarreal!

Hopefully Ben's challenge of the "Tenaska Deal" will get him many votes and a future challenge to the "SECRET" deals of Tony Martinez as mayor. Please take the time to vote for Ben and for Orasmo (running against Rose Zavaleta Gowen/ the bicycle queen) who has regularly supported closing down business downtown so bikers can get off the bike trails and ride downtown while businesses have to shut down.

The more you dig, the more you are going to find. Nothing but corruption going on and, whats worse is that they get away with it. Don't go too far, just look at the Casa Del Fraude, I mean, Nylon. Go Ben Neece

The citizens of Brownsville deserve better, get out and vote. We need to stop all the wasteful spending of tax payers monies. Deplorable and overpriced real estate purchases, Cyclovias that are ill -attended draining budgets on overtime, continued reduction of city streets to make room for bike lines that are hardly used, secret deals with energy giants that only benefit them and directly affect the citizens with higher utility bills and the list goes on and on. Ben Neece, William Garza and Erasmo Castro will definetly be the right choice. Let's give them a chance to make much needed changes that will bring positive results for our community. Enough is enough, period.

I remember Hitlers hair cut - it was pretty wako and he turned out to be a wako.

Neece's hair cut is like a trapeador mojado - even has the same color. It'll be 3 pretty shitty years i guess.
