BYE, BYE PAPACITO!!! DA MAYOR (TONY) MARTINEZ AND AMBIOTEC'S CARLOS MARIN USED AND ABUSED YOU!!!
(Ed.'s Note: Leave it to local blogger and soon-to-be-retired teacher Jerry McHale [AKA Dr. Gerald F. McHalle-Scully] to twist the knife and pour salt on the wounds of his political foes. In this case, it was losing incumbent John Villarreal who went down to challenger Ben Neece, the retired chief municipal judge, one of Jerry's pals. One of the major issues raised by Neece was the Tenaska power plant boondoggle which raised utility rates by 35 percent starting in 2013 and which has been repeatedly delayed. Now many say the plant will probably never get built yet the rates remain artificially high.
Neece has said he will demand that details of the Memorandum of Understanding between the city, PUB and Tenaska be made public. Tenaska, the city, and PUB repeatedly have sought protection from releasing the information through the Texas Attorney General's Office.)

Let us hope that Ben Neece does what he "promised" to do. Unfortunately the Mayor and other commissioners made promises and then became part of the city autocracy....more like a secret society than a city government.
I hope Neece keeps his promises.
And yes, Villarreal was used.
NOW!!!! Let's see how Neece turns out to be and what promises he actually keeps. If he does, our next election should get rid of the mamones that serve on the commission, starting with the Blue Jean Mayor and all his Mexican amoncitos. Prove your votes, Ben! Show us that we should not give up on all our politicos.
Rick Longoria is next
Big defeat for the Benavides group
Ben that's that mean you will be reducing the electrical rates that were increased since 2013 since this tanaska canasta power plant cant be built now? yes or no.
