POLICE COMMUNITY OUTREACH ONE RESIDENT AT A TIME

Brownsville bike cops chat with workers at Tina;s Restaurant across from City Plaza on Levee and 10th Street. The bike corps has given the police visibility and allows them to do community outreach that was much needed in the city's inner core. Face to face meetings such as the scene above allows residents and police to know each other in a way that is not possible any other way.

Plus, it shows the +300 pound deputies at the Cameron county Sheriff's department that exercise is a good thing.

This is just another dog and pony show put on by Chief Rodriguez. I am sure the bike patrol will be short lived like his pet project "Cold case squad" in which he had his own niece placed in, she can't even wear clothing that fits her, let alone investigate any case.

A "go fund me" account has been set up to buy Chief Rodriguez's wife and niece clothing that fits them. Please donate bigger pants.
