ANOTHER VILLALOBOS SEEKS PUBLIC OFFICE; NOW IN KYLE, TX

By Juan Montoya

Just when voters though they had heard the last of candidates named Villalobos, there's another one running for office, this time in Kyle, Texas.

This Villalobos is named Alex and he is former Cameron County District Attoney Armando Villalobos's brother, according to one of our seven readers who lives in the area. Alex is running for city council in Kyle. Villalobos, a Texas State University police officer who’s lived in Kyle for 12 years, and Tim McHutchion, who works in the storage industry, will vie for the seat that will be vacated by District 4 council member David Wilson.

He is running, he said, because he is: "Committed to Community and Dedicated to Progress, with integrity and transparency. I want to engage, listen and work together."

In his Facebook page, Villalobos appears with local police officers who are supporting him in his race. Comparing Alex and Armando Villalobos, the resemblance is uncanny.

The election for the Kyle City Commission is Nov. 7 and so far, no one that we know of has pointed out the reported relationship between Alex and Mando.

We're sure that Alex being a peace officer would try to separate his candidacy from any relationship with his brother Armando. The former Cameron County District Attorney was in the middle of a congressional race when he was indicted and convicted convicted on seven counts, including racketeering, bribery and extortion for accepting more than $100,000 from attorneys in exchange for favorable treatment of criminal cases. of crimes involving bribery

He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

“I tried to bring honor,” said Villalobos, choking back tears shortly before he was sentenced and then also ordered to pay $339,000 in restitution.

Alex Villalobos might want to reconsider – if it's not too late – to delete the word "committed" from his campaign speeches and materials. People might associate the word with "committed" in another sense.

Don't judge a person by his brother. I certainly would not like to be judged for my brother's actions or inactions.

What a dumb article. He is not his brother. You should judge a person by there actions and not their siblings. How about an article on that criminal that is always running for office and losing.

My head hurt reading this. How about you judge someone for their actions and not their siblings. I guess it must be a slow "news" day for you. How about you write an article on the morals of that criminal that is always running for office and losing for office. I'm going to stop reading this crap.

Kyle Texas is a growing progressive community in northern Hays county, just south of Austin. They are smart enough to make their own decision about this guy. I am willing to give him a chance to stand or fall on his own merits. No need to hang the albatross of his brother around his neck.

Are we bound to Kyle by some weird, Twilight Zone wormhole? That fuckhead duardo acosted us from Kyle. The director of United Brownsville was from Kyle. Now this?

UPDATE: Alex Villalobos, whom is not only on the Kyle City Council (nominated by his dishonest Chief Constable) he is also the Chief of Staff for the county judge, the Hays County Emergency Management Coordinator (shady business deals along with the Co. Judge for Covid-19 testing), and a reserve deputy constable. He is also running for Hays Co. Sheriff and the county judges wife is the campaign treasurer. In 2013, when he was employed as a police officer at Texas State University, Alex used a law enforcement search tool for personal benefit; yeah to benefit his brothers case. An investigation led to him being placed on the "Brady list" (a list names that prosecutors use to flag people whose character could be questioned if they are put on the witness stand in court). Disreputable and unethical alike his brother and for his brother. Shine the light Mr. Montoya.
