BROWNSVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE'S 1944 VIEW OF MEXICANS MAKES TRUMP LOOK LIKE A FLAMING LIBERAL

From one of our seven readers: "I was cleaning my garage and among the the piles of my research stuff I found the attached. The Brownsville Chamber on the status of Mexicans in Texas...language used makes City Commissioner Cesar De Leon look like a pussy cat. If you look closely, letter was torn and considered gone forever! Probably the ranting of one individual. This doesn't make Cesar de Leon look like a "pussy cat". Cesar de Leon's racist comments tend to indicate that prejudice and racism continue in Brownsville. This letter has no name, we know that Cesar de Leon, a City Commissioner, is a racist and is now on a committee to choose a new city attorney. He is a racist and should not be on a committee that could be reviewing applications from all races.

The person who wrote this is anonymous and we don't know what attention might have been given to it. Cesar de Leon's racism is not anonymous. Cesar de Leon is a racist city commissioner today. He should not get a pass.

That letter is to the chamber, not from the chamber, do not sure how you attribute that view to the chamber.

As a whole, the Chamber of Commerce organization in the United States is a right-wing lobbying organization and if you support them as a dues paying member you are supporting the radical right and your money is used to support their issues. Having said that, there is nothing in this letter that makes me think it is from the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce or any other Chamber of Commerce unless the Association of Commerce was the name the Chamber used back then but without evidence of that there is no reason to believe it to be true. It looks to me that this was written by some dick and is now being used by another to support a third.

Just some gringo with a burr under his saddle. The salient fact is most local folks, be they born on the north or south side of the river, identify more with Mexico than the United States. That is just the way of life down here and the SOB who pecked that out on his Royal typewriter found it irritating.

Also remember that 1944 was in the heat of WWII and American patriotism was at a great height. Foreigners of all kinds were considered suspicious characters, who might be German or Japanese sympathizers. Or he just might have been a racist, there were plenty then and there are plenty now.

Hmmm ... let's see.

Still on the Cesar de Leon "red herring" false issue. Get over it, move along. Move out of town, go back to the "inner city" and help all the minorities, OR, keep up the fake indignation.

This letter is almost as bad as DPM's constant barrage of disparaging remarks about Brownsville. He's so obsessed with Brownsville, that he has to dedicate a blog to continuously put Brownsville down, even though he doesn't even live here. Like all the other want to be journalists he can't write for a real periodical, so he takes out his frustrations on the unknowing citizens of Brownsville, who have no clue who the failed journalist is. Pandering to Jerry McHale and, of all people, Captain Blob.

Diego Le Rot. Another amateur blogger, like his dad, who thinks that repeating a "rumor" is actual journalism. His persistent idiotic commentary isn't even humorous, yet he is dauntless in providing absolutely nothing toward any constructive dialog about bettering the city he lives in.

BWC ... well what can you say? Bi-polar? He is so confused, undoubtedly, due to his medications and chronic mental health issues that all he does is obfuscate any issue he chooses to carry out a tirade about.

And let's not forget the biggest (literally) moron of them all: erASSmo cASStro. This is the biggest laugh there is in Brownsville and its surrounding environs. This guy couldn't get a story straight if someone wrote it for him. As long as he can say something negative or immature it's fair game for his "blog."

Yes, my friends, we are truly fucked in this third world capitol of the United States, if these are the people that we go to for news.

As the aforementioned crew of crap spewers dive deeper into insignificance, McHale has, actually, become more professional in his writing

Heaven help us from these other clowns ... keep up the good work Juan.

Ahh yes, the famous 201. Mexicans who trained in the US, flew US planes and were attached to the US military in the Pacific. The pilots were Mexican citizens, but other than that, it was was a US operation. Were it not for the taco benders, we would all be speaking Japanese now.

Slavery was illegal in Mexico? Tell that to the millions of peons, who worked for the Patron, so his family could grown a little corn and have a goat or two on the Patron's land. Nobody was better at the exploitation of the poor and ignorant like the Mexicans.

How anybody could hold up Mexico was model of civil rights, humane treatment of others, honesty and the rule of law is deluded. Mexico has great beer, wonderful music and beautiful women, settle for those things and let all the other bull shit go. You only look stupid when you do otherwise.
