Well, we are now happy to know that women along he border who have been raped or victims of incest now have Sen. Eddie Lucio Jr. to look out for their health interests.
It seems that Lucio, a Catholic zealot who has hitched his wagon to the Republican governor and gave the GOP a free hand to push their right-wing social agenda by voting to do with the two-thirds rule in the senate, has been appointed to the Task Force of Border Health Officials that was created in the past legislative session.
(That's Eddie in the photo at right with the bloody coat hanger around his neck.)
The task force will give a voice to the 14 counties that share a border with Mexico, Lucio said.
“This task force will bring the challenges and concerns of these regions to the forefront in Austin during (the) legislative session. It will provide real problems with meaningful solutions,” Lucio told the local daily.

Lucio has consistently voted to deprive women in Texas of their constitutional right to make decision over their own bodies by severely restricting abortion services in the state. Until the laws were overturned by federal courts, these services were denied to women in the Rio Grande Valley through a variety of stratagems, including requiring clinics to have contracts with hospitals, requiring them and doctors to see a film espousing adoption before they could carry out the procedure, etc.
The task force will advise the commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services on critical policy priorities such as diabetes, obesity and communicable diseases, like Zika and tuberculosis.
The task force was formed because of Senate Bill 1680, which Lucio authored. It became evident that there was a need for such a task force when CameronCounty dealt with a localized outbreak of Zika in 2016, Lucio said.

Both Eddie Lucios are DICKs! Their votes in the Texas Legislature are for sale. This community gets nothing from their service in the legislature and they represent companies who are not good for this area. We need Planned Parenthood in the RGV......education for the young and families of the young. We need to stop so many children from having children. We need to stop so many children from killed by boyfriends; stop families from protecting sexual abusers because they are family. Eddie Lucio Jr. uses the Catholic Church as a scapegoat for opposing Planned Parenthood.....The Catholic Church protects pedophiles, rapists and uses the confessional to avoid prosecuting guilty sex abusers. Time the property tax and other tax exemptions for the churches be ended.
For every rape and incest caused pregnancy, hundreds more are terminated because the child is just inconvenient for the mother.
Well said!
If only Eddie's mother had gone through with an abortion we would all be so much better off.
How mean. She just died recently.
FUCK BOTH EDDIE LUCIO"S, they are scum. They are whores who sell themselves for MONEY...!
