The meeting is a sham. Frank Yturria will decide whether the monument goes or stay and if it goes where it goes. The anti-rock people are being played.
Are we going to have a "Town Hall" meeting to decide on the fate of Cesar de Leon, are real, live racist and bigot who happens to be a city commissioner. If we don't get rid of our living racist, the Jefferson Davis plaque should stay where it is. It is hypocritical to remove one, but not the other. In my opinion having a racist making policy for the city is more threatening than a rock.
Beware! Are we in danger of starting Civil War II? The War between the States will be filmed at the Brownsville Event Center, but this time it will be a war against the history that actually took place in our country and that we should understand. I bet more than half of those in attendance do not even know who Jefferson Davis was or what he did and did not do. Let's have a town meeting to get rid of the mayor and not the huge boulder that brings no harm to anyone and provides a place for hoodlums to spray with the paint they are sniffing.
