PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS NOMINATED FOR MUNICIPAL BANNER
(Ed.'s Note: Despite years of being in effect, the city ordinance outlawing plastic grocery bags in the city has apparently had little impact on the bags becoming banners across the city. This photo was sent to us by one of our readers who said he took it at the BISD building at Palm and Elizabeth. Gusty wind blew the bags into the tree branches. How to remove them? Probably more wind to blow them away.)

You should see all the plastic bags that line up the fence at the 77 flea market
Talk about a local case of collusion, I just wonder how much that fkn Ahumada made out of banning those at grocery stores???
Basilio.
The bags attached to trees, as in this picture, should be the logo of this city. And, it is the fault of the citizens who trash the community, and the fault of the city and school district by failing to attempt to change the trash culture of the citizens. We don't effectively recycle because of this trashy culture mentality. The citizens of Brownsville and Matamoros are "trashy" and believe it is the city's responsibility, not their own. This is why Brownsville and Matamoros are "shitholes"; because the citizens like living in trash, garbage and seem happy in a "shithole".
Plastic should be used to control population growth not to put trash.

Those are political signs not plastic bags.
No my grasshopper (9:27 AM), I said plastic bags! Try going into the paved parking lot. Plastic bags line up the fenceline.

Charles Atkinson voted for the stupid ban bag along with others. A friend from Harlingen reminded herself she was in stupid Brownsville when the store handed her her eggs, cheese and milk into her busy hands.
Eggs in her busy hands?
I like to meet busy hands.
Wow the store handed her - her eggs, Da Major needs to go to that store so he can get his huevos!!!
There was a time when the flea market was a nice place. Now it falls in line with being one of Trump's shithole places.
Political signs, plastic bags, what's the difference? Both are full of trash.
Ask him.
