"FIGHTING" OLIVEIRA TV ADS WEASEL-WORD SPACEX CLAIMS

By Juan Montoya
Those of us who have seen the slick television ads bought by District 37 Texas State Rep. Rene Oliviera marvel at the chutzpah demonstrated by this 34-year barnacle of the Texas House of Representatives.

In it, Oliveira is depicted as "fighting" for everyone and their uncle for jobs. Most notably, the ad says it was Oliveira who introduced two bills in the Texas House which resulted in jobs for South Texans.

As a representative of the district it is only House courtesy to allow Oliveira – or whoever holds the position – to file a bill. More substantially, however, is the fact that Oliveira doesn't say which jobs have been generated by the granting of more than $35 million in local and state subsidies to billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX.

In his Environmental Impact Statement to the Federal Aviation Administration, Musk laid out his plan to hire part- and full-time employees at the ballyhooed "commercial vertical launch terminal" to be built on the wetlands of Boca Chica Beach starting in 2013. We're now in 2018.

THIS IS WHAT HE PROMISED:

EIS SpaceX submitted to the FAA
Approximately 30 full-time SpaceX employees/contractors would be present at the vertical launch area and/or control center area in 2013 (2015? now?)... During a launch campaign, an additional 100 local or transient workers would be working at the vertical launch area and/or control center area. During launch campaigns, the additional workers could work extended hours; however, 2 days prior to launch, full-time SpaceX employees/contractors and the local or transient workers would need to be on-site for up to 24 hours per day. Staffing on-site would return to normal levels (approximately 30 full-time SpaceX employees/contractors) within a day or two after the actual launch.

Table 2.1-2 shows the number of full-time SpaceX employees/contractors working on site plus the local/transient workers necessary during launch campaigns that would be present between 2013 and 2022.
Table 2.1-2. Personnel for Proposed SpaceX Texas Launch Site Operations

Year                      Full-time SpaceX                                   Full-time SpaceX

                                                                                         during Launch Campaigns

2013                                          30                                                       130
2014                                          75                                                       175

2020                                         150                                                      250
2021                                         150                                                      250
2022                                                 150                                                      250

AND THIS IS WHAT HE GOT:

That totals 35.3 million in subsidies and tax abatements for Oliveira's buddy. And at last notice, we understand that Oliveira is "fighting" to give Musk an additional $5 million in subsidies for the Boca Chica Boondoggle.

THIS IS WHAT WE'VE GOT SO FAR:

Number of local jobs promised since 2013? 0

Infrastructure at site: A mound of dirt

THIS IS WHAT OLIVEIRA AND PAL SEN. EDDIE LUCIO JR. HAVE GOT:

LUCIO: $2,000
OLIVEIRA: $1,000

Yeah, buddy, that Oliveira is a fighter, ain't he?

No one said he's a "fighter," you idiot! He's OUR Rene, pendejo. Take those $20 Dominguez is paying you and buy a toothbrush, mamon!

Rene Oliviera only fights for himself......Rene is, again, trying to say that anything good is because of him. He is one man, and a joke of a man in Austin. He has never had an original thought; thus his vote is for sale. Rene Oliviera is a slug and a disgrace to those who vote for him. He maybe the 5th ranking legislator...but look at the list, the top five are from poor areas where people blindly support the Demoratic Party of the past and don't think before they vote....or are paid to vote.

I won't vote for Olivera and after this I'm thinking I won't vote for Dominguez either (because I think this is his work). There is just too much misleading or incorrect in what you have written and that's just the stuff I have enough background to know about. My reasoning is that if a politician will try and mislead me at a time he is trying to look good what will he do when he gets elected and no longer cares what I think about him.

Spacex will be another Titan there will be no mass employment from them Ren'e is hoping to get a flight booked, but Musk has stated he can't accommodate the extra weight of his crap. It would be a first time a Black Mamba has gone into Space.

Dominguez didn't pay me or any of my friends and neighbors a single penny. We ALL voted for him for the same reason others did: FED UP with Oliveira, Lucio and ALL LOCAL wanna bees that have done nothing for our community.
I don't expect wonders or miracles from Dominguez BUT, with all his "seniority", Oliveira has delivered NOTHING.

There is no hope for Cameron County when you continue to send him to Austin. It matters not who takes his place, as long as someone takes his place. Ask anyone outside Cameron County what they think of Cameron County elected officials. It is the laughing stock of Texas and a constant question on the legal profession as to who will next go to jail from down here. How about Senator Uresti and his connections to Cameron County, they found him guilty of 11 felonies. Who is next in the democratic party?

Rene isn't so bad. The Lucio's though, fuck! I'd have voted for Dominguez over Lucio, the LNG sellout.
Lucio orchestrated LNG
Dominguez voted for LNG
Rene didn't vote for LNG at all.

Rene wins my vote. Would you like some cancer with your water? Dominguez chose the wrong race to run. He should have run against Lucio. There is nothing more sucio than a Lucio!!

Democrats are crooks and Republicans are sex offenders.

There are a lot of Hispanic Democratic sex offenders here in the area. Sex offenses in the RGV are growing and many are never reported because the offender is part of the family and/or has a job bringing money in to the family.

The hillbillies can't make a report because they can't read and write and all they do is collect welfare and food stamps and shack with their sisters. Totally pigs. They all voted for your friend trump. Racist republicans.

90% of sex offenders in the US are white. Serial killers about 99% white.
