COME IN SHE SAID I'LL GIVE YOU SHELTER FROM THE STORM

(Ed.'s Note: Just as the cold front swept in to Brownsville, one of out thousands of readers said that he heard a flapping in the air and saw two ducks (on top of the tree above) looking for a place to weather the onslaught of rain and cold wind. They alighted on the palo blanco on the 12th Street side of the Masonic Temple catty (kitty?) corner from the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Now, we have heard of wood ducks who are born and raised on tress (as in the Fulda, MN. Wood Ducks), but locally they usually live in the water and in the banks of resacas. The folks over in Minnesota even have a Fulda Wood Duck Festival each June.

Our reader took this photo and others and sent it in to prove it was true. Perhaps local ducks don't live in the trees, but an aberrant weather episode like the unexpected April cold front makes animals (and people) do strange things. Our thanks for the photo.)

The least of worries for Brown Town people!!!!
How about an article on the results of the school board meeting on the 3rd
where Elia was suppose to become a millionaire. How did that turn out. It seems that in Brownsville we keep getting new millionaires by suing whomever.

Que paso con la Elia? The board said, no action!!!

For one, maybe these spotted a ducky deal. Free rent, free taxes, free utilities.
Mason Lodge is a freebie for the sacrimonious freeloaders.
The building should be converted into a museum and do some local benefit.
Maybe a food bank.
A clinic.
Such a waste of a gorgeous asset.

These are Black-bellied Whistling Ducks, formerly called Black-bellied Tree Duck. They frequently perch in trees, on roof tops or even on power lines. A common duck in the Valley.

There is mystery surrounding the Masons, and Hollywood and its entities have depicted a “secret society” of Masons for the world to observe, adding to its mystique. However, these two wood ducks are old time members of this prestigious stag organization.

Ducks were quoted as saying “We are not a cult. We don’t have ‘secret meetings.’ We are a fraternity and our biggest thing is charity. We are a brotherhood and we take care of each other.”
