Barely eight months into his position as the Public Information Officer for the Brownsville Independent School District, Ernie Garrido has confirmed her is leaving the Glass Palace for greener (Zendejaless) places.
The PIO position, considered by media types as the PR gravy spot of the South Texas landscape, has long been a coveted slot by media types in Brownsville.
Several close to Garrido share he decided to resign after being belittled by the Zendejas for this past weekend's golf tournament and lack of RSVPs for tonight's Brownsville School District Centennial Foundation Gala. Garrido replaced Drue Brown about eight months ago. Brown also left because of "personal" reasons with the Zendejas administration.
District attendees say the attendance at the golf event was down and donations set to fall way short of last year's totals. Main office staff witnessed Garrido scrambling all week for more donations, all to no avail.
Some BISD administrators point to the micromanaging by Zendejas and her scare tactics that finally caused Garrido to close shop. After a rough start in August where the Superintendent sent out invites to her back to school luncheon only to have to scrap it the same day, district personnel knew it was going to be a tough road for the new PIO.Asked on district staffer: "With Ernie out of the picture, who will take over as lead trouble shooter for the band of misfits leading the district and how will his absence impact tonight's gala?"
The invitation sent out by the superintendent lists his number as the contact person for purchasing reservations.
Looks like the One Woman Show (Zendejas) is back in business! Stay tuned.

I do not believe they posted the position and there is already someone to be hired on the upcoming BISD agenda.

Wow, and Trump feels he has the most leaks in the White House. Juan you beat him by the mile in getting the leaks from BISD. Who knows it will be on the agenda for the special called board meeting nobody knows about. Only some one on the board, right?
Ernie did an excellent job with BISD but he is a gentleman and had to make a tough decision. It is a shame because he was truly involved, but there must be a reason for his departure regardless of the sentiments. Vaya con Dios, Mr. Garrido!
Let's see who leaks out who the next PIO will be! I bet Juan learns about it before the agenda comes out. Bet you a whole nickel.

Mr. Garrido was an outstanding PIO. Sorry him to see go. He is moving on to greener pastures. This is a great loss to BISD!
Those who don't like Espy are those who have been chewed out for not doing their jobs, like she did the first time she was here. I can assure you that the majority of the "naysayers" are in someway connected to SPA who makes it obvious that she hates her guts. Y Minnie Weenie tambien. But Minnie is a back stabber and two-faced individual who smiles and pats Espy on the back,
and then with her "golpes de pecho" talks about her in public. Those of us who believe in her are those who are willing to produce for our students and know that all the initiative she started when she was here the first time, are still in the works and plenty more have been added. Look at all the progress the students have made in scores - the most important item on the agenda - learning. As for the scoreboard, I will vote no because there is no need to pacify the few football fans that are around. Instead, that money should be used for stipends for those teachers who give of their all and are willing to sponsor and do extra for the district. Those that bitch about everything except on the 25th that they get their papita, should be kicked out of the stadium with a swift kick and take Coach Joe with them.
Folks this never ending crap at the city county or school district of the give or take, then that's all it is who gives in and who takes out, its always been this way. Don't matter who is in control, be it Zendejas or Joe Rod, Minnie weenie or even el colchon de tom chavez, its about the azadon theory folks, todo para aqa.

Tan chula que salio Juana Gallo AKA Espy Zendejas! She is a good looking lady, regardless of what anyone else says! More power to her for having the guts to stand up in this male-controlled environment. She not only has guts but has a mind that is above any other superintendent that has been at BISD.
