THE LINES FOR THE SPECTRUM CABLE TV BOXES GROW

(Ed.'s Note: Spectrum Cable customers were up as early as 7 a.m. forming a queue to get a free box that would allow them to receive the company's upgraded signal. According to the reader who sent us this photo, this was just one of two lines that extended from the front doors, which opened at 8 a.m.

Security guards had formed another that extended to the rear of the building and stretched into McIntosh Street and down the curb.

Property owners on both sides of that street have posted signs preventing Spectrum customers from parking so they could walk and get their box. Is this any way to run a cable company?)

Spectrum customers received letters in the mail at the beginning of April notifying everyone of the upcoming changes. You had the opportunity to order them online, which I did. Got them delivered in about 4 days. If people would only read their mail.

It has been 6 weeks and I have not gotten mine. When you call you get the run around. I called when I saw the commnercials. I have two boxes for the main tv's but the TV's guests watch do not work.

I give up. No one can answer questions. I am looking at cancelling cable but keeping my internet. I can watch everything and more on my smart TV for less cost.

But yes I agree a lot of people were very lazy.

Yes, and when you called to check out if you needed the device, some idiot on the other side told me that I was set, because I had all the necessary material. Poof,
come May 1, my TV went off. I called and I will get mine tomorrow, so decided not to stand in line and waste my time. One office in such a large city has always been an issue. Change things for the better, but do it without having to have us oldies not understand what is going on or how to use it. Just leave the same old TV channels and to hell with cable. Imagine the amount of money we'd save.

I agree with the first comments.
Iwent in person, was given a new box, I have no knowledge of electronics and was able to connect in 15 min.
Our Mexican culture is sadly that we wait till the end and blame others for our mistakes.

Yet another box/device I need to connect my TV with. With all these cables and devices I have to connect it with, my TV looks like it's on life support. Does the government/cable company need more crap to have me buy to spy on what I watch? Ancient Aliens is a guilty pleasure okay!

Or you could have done what every other person who doesn't wait until the last minute and go in to the office when wait times were normal. You were given a box, you could go home, install it, call in to have it activated, then you were all set. Everybody expects everything to be handed to them, then they want to wait until the last minute and complain.

Wow, we've been tooled.
We lost all our good basic channels which are now classified in the premium rates.
Congratulations to Spectrum for playing hardball.
Big fat "F" for consumer protection agencies.
Who's watching our back.
Not a single local, state or federal official is around when you need them.
The poor citizens are being taken advantage of AGAIN!
