The protest of those policies have centered in our city and it doesn't look like they are going to go away soon. As of today, hundreds of migrant minors have been shipped out to other parts of the country and their parents – some of them already deported – do not know where they are.)

I think that "Anonymous" at 11:50 has it all wrong. Its the liberals and Democrats who are on welfare and depend on government assistance. Just look around you, the RGV is a Democratic Party stronghold and the people here, legal or legal, are poor and depend on assistance and the education level here is far below the national average. The ACLU had to bus protesters in to Brownsville because most locals don't want to take a chance that they will lose benefits or be deported.
Where were these protesters during the Obama administration...when illegal families were being separated and 90,000 illegals were deported???????
The Democratic Party started these protests about immigration to deflect public attention to what is going on in Washington. The Inspector General's report opened Pandora's Box about corruption in the FBI which puts pressure to question the DNC and the Clinton Campaign for "collusion" and "corruption".

Great nations which did not control their frontiers did not remain great. Ever hear of the Huns, Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Vandals, et. al. and the Roman Empire? Those of us "hillbilly", uneducated Trump supporters are not anti-immigration but instead insist that immigration should be controlled as to whom is entering the country. Yes, all immigrants should be processed as per regulations and pursue their efforts to enter legally. We will need labor badly in the future, but let those who really want to work and appreciate America be vetted in such a manner as to screen out the criminal element. Otherwise, it is a crime to simply crash the border without credentials, visas, etc. The demonstrators are obviously ignorant of history and do not care one whit about immigration law. Latin America is full of good people, who should be encouraged to apply for entry through U.S. consulates and embassies in the concerned countries.
