The incident occurred on May 29 at the 3200 block of Calle Columbia.

According to the victim, she was walking her pet Yorkie when the pit bull began to attack her dog. In an attempt to save her dog, she picked it up. The woman said the pit bull then bit her several times on her left arm.

The woman states she let go of her dog, which ended up in the resaca with the pit-bull. Emergency medical personnel were sent to the location where the woman was first treated for her injuries. She was then transported to a local hospital.

Under the Texas Health and Safety Code Sec. 822.005 (1) (2) “a person commits an offense if the person is the owner of a dog and the person with criminal negligence fails to secure the dog and the dog makes an unprovoked attack on another person that occurs at a location other than the owner’s real property and or vehicle or boat.”
UNPROVOKED can you idiots UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF THE WORD?

I hope he get 50 years in prison to make an example. What's more danger to the public, a fijita robber, a person that shot an officer, or a dog owner with a vicious dog?

MY ANSWER "ALL THREE".

You want to capture vicious dogs with their owners, go to veterans park. There you will find a few vicious dogs. The majority of dog owners take their pet to there to take a crap, nothing else.

A little too late Brownsville P.D.! Since the police department is in charge of animal control, I hope they get sued along with it's inept police chief. Who within the police department is in charge of animal control? Is it one of the chief's wife relatives?

That lady lost a chunk of meat to the pit bull but most importantly, she lost her beloved pet - a member of her family. That should be considered murder by a pit bull owned by a pit bull lover, so he should be in jail for murder.
The pit bull is an animal with innate characteristics and his defense mechanisms. The owner of a dog should be able to try and control the nature of the dog and if he sees that it is not possible to tame him down, he should keep him inside his house and let the pet bite of his skin. Where was the owner when this happened? Why was the dog freely running around?

It is above their pay grade to know what to do anything about it, once they have agreed what to do about it next

Forget about the vicious dogs that roam the park with their owners and forget about the homeless sleeping there.
