FRESH FROM OVERSEEING HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT AT BISD SPECIAL NEEDS, SANDRA RODRIGUEZ GOES TO PORTER H.S.

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

Remember the brouhaha that erupted at the Brownsville Independent School District Special Needs Department after numerous staffers made public what they said was a hostile working environment under the administration of Dr. Sandra Rodriguez?

Image result for a hostile working environmentThese complaints reached the social media and eventually the ears of some BISD board members and of the administration which had ignored the workers' pleas before.

Well, while the BISD administration undertook a review of operations there and conducted interview of the department's employees, Rodriguez was removed from her position and an interim director assigned.

Staff members had complained of an environment rampant with favoritism, despotic treatment of underlings,  misplaced priorities in administering department assets to the detriment of special need students and a continued humiliating of some employees.

BISD insiders say Rodriguez enjoys the backing of trustee Joe Rodriguez who is cozy with her husband, athletic coach Ronnie Rodriguez, of the Los Fresnos H.S.

Source say that the BISD administration probe uncovered some findings supporting some of the allegations that the  department being a hostile working environment there and looked around for a place for Rodriguez. They hit upon placing the good doctor (Ph.D.) as an assistant principal at a local high school.

According to district sources, she will continue at her current salary as Asst. principal.

The lucky campus turned out to be, we have learned, Porter High School and Early College. Will her brand of administering carry over to Porter? Or - given the results at Special Needs - will Rodriguez toe the line?

BISD; home of corruption, special favors to family and friends, incompetence and poor academic village for most kids. Nothing new over the years....just more money to share.

And the incompetent continue to stay, did she get a pay increase, just like COB? I don't want to ask about a reprimand...

Porter is now out of order

Yes, Espy, if she failed as an instructional leader enough to be moved, why not fire her. Get rid of those who are not there to serve the students and let their positions go to their head. Que compone Joe - tiene un pie en el pozo.

"NOW" perverts who's responsible? Well just transfer that individual to where he or she can hide say for about 50 years just like COB...

What, precisely, did Porter do to deserve this woman who is a manifest demonstration of the Peter Principle?

Dr. Z, knowing your expectations, I am certain that this was not your move, but you are the head of the district and everything comes back to you. You need to stand up to those who are underminding you and getting in your way and if necessary, be a whistle blower and blow the hell out of all of them who are only making things and matters worse. If they are so stupid to not see what they are doing, who needs them on the board. Teachers and administrators are leaving the district because they are tired of listening to so many chiefs without feathers and those who run for a defense from board members when reprimanded. The district can not go on like this and I am sure you agree, so please take action to protect yourself and the children of BISD. You have many stakeholders behind you, rest assure!

Peter Principle??? Please explain.

The Peter principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter, which observes that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to their "level of incompetence".
