This past Tuesday was supposed to be Sossi's first meeting as the City of San Bene's city attorney.
But Italy, apparently, got in the way. Or was it a gig with another city like Mission, perhaps, with whom he is also on retainer?
Instead, Brownsville attorney and a former City of Brownsville commissioner Anthony Trioani showed up to pinch hit. Both of them are bods that go back a long way when they were used to be students at St. Joseph Academy in Brownsville.Troiani, however, doesn't specialize in municipal law. In fact, he handled buddy Sossi's messy divorce and child custody (support) case when he was trying to evict the mother of his child from his house.
Neither of them have law partners.
Trioani, whose wife is working as a federal parole officer in Houston, has an office there, too, and one in Brownsville. Splitting his time between his home in Brownsville and his other one in Houston, he just served as a warm body for Mark to collect his $175 per hour.He is also the goodwill "ambassador" for the Gladys Porter Zoo.
Word on the streets of the Resaca City is that after he landed the San Bene gig, he was in need of a nice vacation (Already? He hasn't even started work!) in Italy. Also, it seems that Sossi does not have any sort of written contract or agreement as interim attorney. Apparently during the meeting where he as hired, the mayor said he would work for the same $175 hourly rate as the previous city attorney.
When he was in Brownsville, there was a single-page letter of agreement, or contract between him and the city.
But instead of the checks being made out to him - to put the IRS off the scent(?)- they were made to something called the "Good Government Law Firm."
Is he using that subterfuge in San Bene, too?

Sossi has a tremendous number of outstanding debts and a credit score of zilch. An Italian vacation?
San Bene will never learn!
El SAN BENE hasn’t grown in over 30 yrs it has no place to go. All sorts of Mayors,Commissioners,city managers and city attorneys have come and gone. E NADA.
Sossi will still collect from Cablers slush funds and his milage scam he help set up.

The ONLY good place in san bene is La Villita nothing else.
