A former Cameron County Precinct 4 constable arrested a week ago is accused of stealing $860 worth of merchandise while working as a security guard for Walmart. The Brownsville Police Department arrested Jerry Xagoraris on Sept. 17 and charged him with official oppression and theft.
According to a police report, the asset protection manager for the Walmart at 3500 W. Alton Gloor Blvd. contacted the Brownsville
PD on Aug. 21 to file a complaint for continuing theft of property against Xagoraris.
The manager told police that Xagoraris worked for Walmart as an off-duty security guard at the location for about four years.
The allegations came to light when Xagoraris allegedly began acting suspicious before the conclusion of his 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. shift.
According to the manager, Xagoraris would begin shopping an hour before his shift ended and would select and bag merchandise and place it in a shopping cart that he stashed it in the front of the store, the police report states.

HE IS NOT A SECURITY GUARD FOR WALMART...HE IS INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR WORKING SECURITY FOR WALMART AS COMMISSIONED PEACE OFFICER AS A DEPUTY CONSATBLE. HE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN A FORMER LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WHILE WORKING AT WALMART...IF HE WAS THEN HE WOULD HAVE TO EMPLOYED BY A SECURITY GUARD COMPANY IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE DPS SECURITY GUARD STATUTES AND RULES. HE MAY HAVE RESIGNED PRIOR TO BEING ARRESTED BY BROWNSVILLE POLICE WHEN HE CATCH WIND THAT HE WAS IN FOR IT SO HE RESIGNS HE POSITION WITH CONSTABLE PCT 4. AS FAR AS I CAN SEE EVERYTIME I GO INTO WALMART AT THE ALTON GLOOR STORE...THEIR BADGES AND ARM PATCHES SAY CONSTABLE SO THAT TELLS ME THAT THEY PEACE OFFICERS WORKING INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR WORK IN SECURITY CAPACITY. THEY GET PAID DIRECTLY AND INDIVIDUAL ACCORDING TO LAW FOR PEACE OFFICERS AS SECURITY BUT STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS WORKING UNDER THE COLORS OF HIS BOSS THE CONSTABLE HIMSELF.THAT'S SHAMEFUL FOR HIS DEPARTMENT HIS FELLOW OFFICERS THE COUNTY AND OVERALL LAW ENFORCEMENT...THE PROBLEMS IS THAT LAW ENFORCEMENT DOES NOT DO A GOOD JOB OF DOING BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS ON THERE OFFICERS LIKE DPS DOES.

Constable or security guard, he was caught with his fingers in the till. He was caught in the act stealing.
Are they allowed to use their uniforms issued by city or county to make extra money? Oh its in the contract ANOTHER SCAM!!! As it is they make over 70k a year more then the majority of the citizens here. I know they put their life on the line everyday, but why use the company issued uniforms to make that extra money. As it is they make a lot more, make them buy their uniforms and save some money to use on the bike trails!!!

Not to mention he was working for the first two years as a Reserve Officer at Walmart which is completely illegal under the Texas Private Security act.

OH MY GOD....DOEN'T THIS VIOLATION STILL A CHARGABLE OFFENSE UNDER THE TEXAS PRIVATE SECURITY ACT,A CLASS A MISDEMEANOR AND STILL WITHIN IT'S STATUTE OF LIMITATION. I SAW HIM THERE AT WALMART ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO OR LESS....WALMART HAS VIDEO SURVIELLEANCE CAMERAS THAT WILL SHOW HIM THERE PHYSICALLY WORKING SECUIRTY DURING THOISE TIMES!!!! A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT ONLY NEEDS TO SHOW THAT SOME PERSON COMMITED AN OFFENSE, A TIME FRAME/LOCATION, SWORN TO AND AN AFFIDVITT SUPPORTING THE COMPLAINT???? SINCE I PHYSICALLY SAW HIM THERE WORKING SECURITY AT WALMART I COULD BE THE COMPLAINANT IN THIS CASE....JUST PULL UP THE VIDEO WHERE I ENTERED THE WALMART AND THIS DIRT BAG WORKING AT THE TIME.....THERE YOU GO!!!!! County constables dont make 70k a year this is not LAPD we are in the valley.... they make 32k a year....
