(Ed.'s Note: We can't say we attended Monday's Meet-and-Greet for Position 1 BISD candidate Otis Powers, but a few of our readers did and said the place was packed. Former and current elected officials, BISD staff and just plain people joined the candidate to show their support. Powers is running against incumbent Carlos Elizondo and fellow challenger Erasmo Castro. As we approach the October 22 start for early voting, every candidate is seeking to gather traction for the momentum to carry them to victory. This good showing is bound to encourage his supporters and fire up the opposition.)

More and more schools are becoming year-round places of learning. The BISD board will consider becoming year-round place of learning. Makes sense. There are two and maybe three BISD candidates that are saying that they will consider this proposal.
When his former opponent comes out and endorses him publicly, that says alot.. both otis and cowen are fine men, good luck otis.

Get rid of Elizondo; we don't want a felon on the board. We also need to get rid of "Coach Joe"...he should donate his commission for the new scoreboard.
Support Drue Brown and hope to defeat all incumbents.

Powers will listen to the proposal to change to a year round schooling. That's where BISD needs to go. There are others that are seriously considering this change.
Does the Hatch Act not specify that board members are not to actively engage in campaign for another board member. Otis has a lot of nepotism in there too. Who told you that Otis and Cowen are good man? Ask Cowen why he want to fire Zendejas? Rumors have it that a special little AA will get the job as a Favor from Cowen. Cowen walks out of meeting when he does not like it if someone does not let him be the pitcher. He takes his bat home and walks off pouting and screaming. Did you watch the last board meeting?
Reminds me of Trump and Kava-naugh! Drue sold herself! Cata changes her mind out of no-where, Prici has no idea what is going on and is only bowing to her suppose to be friend. I can't wait to have her find out what she is getting involved with by being told what to do.

We surely don't need ex board members, we need new leaders. Past board members only bring problems and divisions. Let's vote in new candidates, period.
