Texas legislators assume office at the beginning of the legislative session, which starts at noon on the second Tuesday in January in the year after the election.
Frank and his wife contributed a great deal to this community over the years. The first comment above surely is from someone ignorant of his contributions...or just another local Democrat. Frank was very low key but his gifts of land will forever serve to preserve endangered animals like the Ocelot and others.
Hombre de palabra con el rico y con el pobre - sin preguntas! Era una hombre fino y honesto y para que se respecte como fue respetado. Que en paz descanse este lindo senor y que guide a la Senora Mary por much anos mas.
Mary is in Houston with her daughters who love her dearly. She is a very strong lady who always support me since I was a young kid, trying to get educated, by working odd jobs here and there to say money for college and at the same time support my widowed mother and my siblings. She never gave me anything until she made me realize what it took to make good decisions, especially what I would do with what she helped me with. Both Mary and Frank was and is unique in Brownsville. Those of us who knew them and loved them, even from the other side of the tracks, will forever be grateful for their unselfish contributions.

So what?
Shame on you for using such a cruel way to describe the passing of such a fine gentleman. Great that his family doesn't read this blog.
May he rest in peace, he lived a good life rest peacefully.

What do you mean "the other side of the tracks" always with your racist shits...
Mary Yturria would not have like what you just said I know.
