FROM IDEA, A YUMMY BREAKFAST; BISD, LAWSUITS & DRAMA

(What a difference a school makes. This mass-mailed text to invite every parent to a breakfast to keep them up to date was sent today by IDEA charter schools. At the Brownsville Independent School District under former Superintendent Esperanza Zendejas it was spoiled greasy barbacoa, disgruntled employees, and grievances and lawsuits. And we wonder why the BISD has been losing students?)

To 10:30, who made you the spelling expert? Look it up before you want to impress.

An omelet (or omelette) is a type of egg dish, often served at breakfast or brunch. Neither spelling is wrong. Idiot you must have gone to BISD.

If he spells omelet correctly hire him/her in a meskin minute.

Pardon me, but in American English, the word is spelled Omelet correctly (dumbass)

Get over the Barbacoa already! It's time for a fresh start. The new board will do well without the tyranny of the previous crooks.

The “red pen of death” shapes this community and the experience of an "academic culture of humiliation" along with the "culture of corruption" go hand in hand.

BISD, Fire Dept, Police Dept, City Hall, Cameron County offices, including the CC Tax Dept. JP's and even other tax entities, have shown the local citizens, they lack the proper requirements and skills to write comprehensibly. Can we as citizens imagine how these people fare in doing their "JOBS"? "NO WONDER".

Before any vacuous minded person tries to correct please read below:

Fair or fare:

These two words are different in their meanings and it’s important to use the correct word, fare vs. fair. Fair has many different meanings as an adjective, adverb, and a noun. It most commonly means just and unbiased, pleasing, clear, and clean, or a public exhibition event. Fare can be used verb and a noun. As a verb, it means to go, get along, or succeed. As a noun, it refers to money spent for public transportation. A good way to remember the difference between these two words is by looking at the last two letters of fare. The cost of a fare can be redeemed.

Mr. Montoya is extremely smart not only has he exposed some level of corruption at the top but also incompetence in mid-level management...

That idiot at January 15, 2019 at 10:30 AM must be working in some government agency. No doubt about it... He's got all the qualities and is not afraid to show them!

By the way, BISD served that cheesy omelet wrap a couple of years ago and the majority of the kids did not like it! We feed children at BISD, lots of them! We don't get to pick and choose who we let enroll in our classrooms! Big difference!

For those of you defending the spelling of omelet, you should ask why they decided to capitalize "cinnamon," "breakfast," and "vanilla?" None of those words needed to be capitalized.

Turning this into a pissing contest about grammar is useless. There is nothing more polarizing in education than the battle between a standard school district and a charter school. People sing the praises of these charter schools because of their illustrious track record and their claims that every student goes to college. People often talk about how good these charter schools are and they can't wait to move their children to these charter schools because the regular school district sucks. They can't stop talking about how poorly the standard school district campuses perform and how well the students at charter schools do.

Unfortunately, most of the people who are talking about how poorly students do in a standard school district are talking about themselves. That's what everybody fails to see. They say the standard school districts are doing poorly because THEY did poorly. It's the same thing when students go around telling their peers "oh, we don't do anything in that class." That's not correct. The true statement should be "I don't do anything in that class." I get it's popular to shit on educators. I really do. It's a lot easier to sit on the bench yelling at the people who are playing the game rather than getting in the game and trying to win it yourself. I understand the same shit-for-brains idiots will reply about BISD teachers being lazy, and BISD teachers having three months of paid vacation, and every other pendejada they can think of, but the simple fact is those people are just uneducated people who couldn't get their shit together when they were in school.

Standard school district employees are subject to scrutiny from every corner of society. I have never understood why educators had to be subject to a school board that isn't made up of educators. Lawyers have the bar, which is made up of other lawyers. Doctors have medical boards, that are made up of other doctors. Law enforcement officers are subject to review boards made up of other peace officers. Teachers are subject to the whims of local blowhards and politicians who aren't required to have any sort of experience in education. Educators are subject to a code of ethics that says if they're seen in a place that might appear to question the educator's "moral turpitude," regardless of what they're doing, they might lose their license. Educator's salaries are posted on public webpages for all to see. Educators are subject to freedom of information act requests so their personnel records are distributed for any and all to see. Educators are accused of all kinds of things and judgment is passed on them before they even get a chance to say anything. They are tested, tested again, background checked by the state, background checked by the federal government, tested and fingerprinted again, and subject to review, after review, after review, and still, the community passes judgment on them.

But IDEA and other charter school educators operate on a whole other level of secrecy. Their schools are shrouded in a cloak of mystery. Their internal operations are not subject to public review. Not all of their teachers are state certified. They often times prefer to hire Teach for America members rather than state certified educators. They do not like independent educators who use a variety of teaching methods to reach all different learner types. They like automatons who follow their rigid, inflexible curriculum to the letter. That curriculum is also designed to be taught one way, and only one way. No deviation from the plan is acceptable. Also, the curriculum isn't available for public scrutiny. If any parent walks in to the main office at the local school district, they can ask to speak to the curriculum and instruction director, and they'll most likely be able to walk out with a hard copy of the entire grade level curriculum they request. Also, of course you're going to look good on paper if you're allowed to cherry-pick your students. Many local administrators of different school districts have accused IDEA schools of picking the best and the brightest. Again, imagine for a second a coach would be allowed to pick and field an all star team from the best athletes in Brownsville. He'd win every district title there is to win. And if you don't live up to the IDEA standards, you are shown the door and not invited back next year...guess where those students end up? Confused and back in the standard school district. Also, BISD is constantly raked over the coals for their performance, yet school districts from as far away as Raymondville bring students to participate in our special education programs. IDEA schools do not offer a fraction of the special education programs standard school districts do. And finally, of course 100% of IDEA students go to college. One of their graduation requirements is they apply and get accepted to college BEFORE they graduate.

At the end of the day, you're going to believe whatever you want. But some of you make the IDEA schools out to be some white knight among all the plague-riddled people of the kingdom, when the simple fact is they are just like all the other schools. Their thirst for expansion is fueled by this ridiculous public perception that they can do no wrong. Most people who rag on BISD do it because they're mindless sheep who never liked going to school in the first place, and it's cool to talk shit about the school district.

The ones who complain the loudest are the ones who know the least.

To complainer at January 17, 2019 at 1:02 PM you are SOOO right about people that complain and show their inability to convey intelligently what ever they are trying to say. You wrote 2 pages of nonsense convoluted to the extreme and very loud and at the end you address yourself. My question who is the complainee here?
Image if it was a brisket instead of an omelt!!!!!

Thank you for proving my point. I don't even know what the hell you're trying to say. All the tools on the internet for you to use to be able to check your grammar and syntax to try and put together a coherent sentence, and you come up with that abortion. God help you.

Another county heard from.

I'm not making any sense, yet you end your rambling with, "Image if it was a brisket instead of an omelt!!!!!"

"Image."

"Omelt."

Brilliant.

Another idiot who proves my point. Thank you for making this easy. Maybe you just didn't understand some of the words I used.

Well said and that's just the way it is between public and charter schools!

It takes an idiot to know another idiot, none or neither of you make any sense this is not a class room please quit trying to impress you look foolish as it is

TEA hides all type of accusations and enables predators to continue in their profession. Private schools take action to protect the students and employees. That's a big difference. Game changer

You can write 20 pages but still it doesn't change anything (most of it false) its all make believe a fairy tale. Look at the facts to be convinced. GOOGLE IT!

@ January 19, 2019 at 10:02 AM

The fact that you'd think to turn to Google for your facts proves how unprepared you are to have a coherent argument. Running to the internet to look for facts is a bad idea.

And @ January 19, 2019 at 8:41 AM, I'm not trying to impress anybody. The fact that you'd say something that foolish proves you are also incapable of having a discussion about anything you don't agree with.

Funny how people attack those who they don't agree with.

Look who's attacking and trying very hard to impress. You still look foolish and worst sound like your idol trump.
