YOU'VE GOT TO ASK YOURSELF A QUESTION: DO I FEEL LUCKY?

(Ed.'s Note: The Brownsville Police Dept. pulled out all the stops to provide protection to the U.S. Congressional delegation investigating voting rights and commemorating Black History Month. After listening to a presentation by Dr. Tony Zavaleta on the disgraceful treatment of the Buffalo Soldiers, they toured downtown with Dr. Anthony Knopp who pointed out places associated with the Brownsville Raid that led to the dishonorable discharge of the black unit.

A ceremony honoring the contributions of African-Americans in Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley followed Monday evening at the Cameron County Commissioner Court at the Dancy Building. Above, the BPD SWAT unit stands guard as the recognition ceremony was being held across the street.)

Great. Let's add fuel to the sensationalist story that the CODEL was in danger because they were in a dirty, corrupt border town. Then let someone chime in that "only in the Valley" would they be so unsafe. Great.

No they were not talking any chances, they heard that Rear-ender, Rene Oliveria was driving in the area. It had been rumored that the woman who he gave his card to before he drove off to his house, has not been paid.

Waste of time and money. No one care about this delegation in Brownsville. Over kill. This police action should be in Chicago were there plenty of victims of crime in the black community.

You can't say Black to a person, that is discrimination, like you can only have Berry jam, like Tony Martinez can't say Blxxk
Magic, he has to say Dark brown Magic, from Columbia, but a Dark skined person is a Martinez Magic delight.

Your ignorance is duly noted. Did you ever consider the embarrassment of being unprepared in the event of a mishap?

I'm glad we have someone speaking up for the entire community. You really should speak for yourself. Just because you don't care about the CODEL being in Brownsville doesn't mean other people didn't care.

It's a shame how the USCT were treated. It was a black mark on Brownsville's history, and it was a black mark on Roosevelt and the army's history. We should have issued a formal apology to the relatives of the USCT and the African-American community as a whole.

I was in Bethlehem at the Church of the Nativity when Spanish came in very handy. Only on Christman Eve do they put the wooden baby Jesus in the manager. It was not Christimas Eve but my wife wanted to see it. We went next door and the only person there was a Priest from Spain who spoke no English. He was happy to take us back and show us the cupboard where they keep the baby Jesus.

Wait, I thought the mayor declared the border was safe and that it didn’t need a Wall.
