A Cameron County jail inmate who died this week suffered severe head trauma which led to cardiac arrest.
That’s according to a report released by Justice of the Peace Johnathan Gracia released by Sheriff Omar Lucio Wednesday.
He says 43-year-old Gabriel Angulo Rivera had become ill Tuesday morning and was transported from the jail to Valley Regional Medical Center where he died a short time later.
Lucio did not say how Rivera suffered his head injuries, only that Texas Rangers continue their investigation.
The Harlingen man had been booked into the jail March 21st on charges of DWI and failure to pay child support.

Voters of cameron county I emplore you to send Sheriff Lucio to his retirement and lets start saving tax payers money
think about carrizales guards make $12 an hour. they have to feed their families and pay their bills on that. their stress level is very high already. then these criminals tbrow feces at them shout obscenities and assault them. hello. perfect storm. let all that frustration out. i would too! guards just wanna go home at the end of the night. the criminals in jail need to get the mesage respect authority follow rules and be ready to face consequences if u dont.
How do you get blunt force tramer so someone will get to jail for a long time.

Idiota let something like this happen to you or one of your family. There is no excuse for killing PERIOD. Find another job if you are stressed out. The simple solution is to stay there and release their anger on somebody that can't answer back pinches cobardes and you to at March 28, 2019 at 6:24 PM whoever the f*** you are...
Bring the rinches is like bring your brother to invested a family member. An independent investigator should ALWAYS be brought in to investigate every law agency to finally stop all these abuses. Whoever it was they must be charged with murder
SOME PPL JUST NEED A LITTLE KILLING >>>>>>>>>
Another "white wash" at the Sheriff's Office. Another body on hands a corrupt sheriff and his Reyna henchmen/handlers. When will the people of Cameron County wake up to the corruption.
Call 444-4444 the only number you need 4

The "tune up" at the jail went two licks to hard and killed the poor SOB. Some jailers need to become inmates.
