JUST OVER 1,000 BROWNSVILLE RESIDENTS HAVE VOTED EARLY

(Ed.'s Note: Voting has been slow in the City of Brownsville commission election. One of those urging voter to the polls was none other than incumbent mayor Tony Martinez who is seen here driving to the Central Library, traditionally the polling place with the highest vote count. On the right is mayoral candidate Charlie Cabler's ride. More than half the 1,040 votes were (546) were cast there yesterday.)

Yes, let's elect Cabler as our next Mayor. Brownsville deserves a leader who truly cares about our community and our needs. Cabler is ready to get things going, like much needed street maintenance and proper drainage. He will be a full time Mayor, I just voted for him today and hope that many others do the same. He has served 40 plus years of public service and is the right choice.

If Cabler is so good, why did he not produce as a city manager? All of a sudden he sees the worse streets in Texas.

Antonio y Juan are one and the same we don't need any attorneys running the city we've had enough DO NOT RE-ELECT ANYONE

Cabler is a mouth peice and a puppet, he will be going to jail when it comes out about his involvement with the ex fire Chief and the Ambulance scam.

The reason is simple, politics do not let the city manager do his or her job, good example is when the current city manager tried to hire an external police chief. He was stopped on his tracks by politics who wanted someone within BPD ranks. The same thing happiened countless times to Cabler when he was city manager, politics will always interfere with his decisions, now Cabler will be on the other side and will make things happen. Hope he gets elected as our next Mayor, time for a real and positive change for the citizens of Brownsville.

Cabler's little white car was seen in going around in the country club area, putting his flyer in the mailboxes (federal offense) of homes that had a Trey sign in the front yard.

Yup, Cabler was responsible for the Ambulance scandal, not the mayor.... And he wants to be mayor.....

No vote for Martinez or Cabler...
