PROPERTY OWNER, VOTERS, HEDGING BETS IN MAYOR'S RACE?

(Ed.'s Note: The owner o the property along 12th Street whose building abuts the alley next to the Immaculate Conception Church is apparently hedging his bets on who he is going to support for mayor of the City of Brownsville in the upcoming May 4 election. He has a Tony Martinez sign on ta window facing the cathedral and a smaller Trey Mendez sign facing 12th Street which can be seen between the woman pushing the man in the wheelchair and the pedestrian in front of them.

May voters are torn between the candidates in the race that includes former city manager Charlie Cabler. Early voting begins Monday and ends April 3.)

What no Brownsville Mayor has been able to do is clean up this town? I get so embarrassed taking friends from out of town around this city with most political signs sitting on tall messy properties. I don't know how well Mayor Henry Gonzalez did as mayor cuz i was in my early twenties, but i think he was the only one that believed in Keep Brownsville Beautiful. I may be wrong, but it's such a shame we have a beautiful Fort town, and can't make it beautiful.
