LIONS (BORDER) SPOTTED FEEDING HUNGRY AT GOOD NEIGHBOR

(Ed.'s Note: At first we thought our sources were joking. They sent us messages that they had seen some lions at the Good Neighbor Settlement House Tuesday evening. The first thing that came to mind was that there had been an escape at the zoo, like a Mexican eagle that flew the coop a few years ago. "No," we were told, "the border lions were feeding at the Good Neighbor."

Later we ran into Cameron County Treasurer David Betancourt, his son, and some of his fellow Border Lions and he confirmed that his service group periodically helps feed the House's clients and don aprons, hairnets, and ladles to dish out the fare. "If I had known I'd see you I would have bought you a plate," Betancourt joked. Son buenas bestias, these guys.)

What is a Mexican Eagle? An eagle from Mexico? Otherwise there is no such bird. Accuracy matters.

Heard the chefs are excellent cooks.
Wonder if GOOD NEIGHBOR provides MEALS ON WHEELS.
Or if GOOD NEIGHBOR has a food canteen (roach coach) like SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION or RED CROSS or SALVATION ARMY.
Congratulations to all these organizations trying to curb hunger.
There's a whole lot of poverty to address especially rural areas.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
