Picturesque ok. 1 or 2 bars. 1 Douche Pizzeria and cheap wine. All the restaurants have moved up north Applebee's and whatever else is out there but it's no different than frozen food. AND for the bars that have been there forever. I am Brownsville proud for you, de corazon.

They are the some whiners that are always putting Brownsville down. They spew bs with no substance and probably don't lift a finger to improve anything, except to guzzle another beer, so they can fatten up on their couches ... too lazy to even leave their homes, except to buy more beer. They should be happy that after September 1, they can have their chevies delivered to their house. That way they don't even have to leave. Maybe they won't even have to get up off the couch at their trailer to answer the door, if they're not too cheap to tip the delivery boy. Couch Potato critics with no solutions.

I am assuming people putting down this picture of Brownsville downtown actually LIVE here. SAD.
Some years ago, I visited Nashville, Memphis and other cities around the area. Several of us drove down a street downtown Memphis at night. The downtown area looked VERY similar to where Las Ramblas and Dodicci is here in Brownsville; they served sandwiches, sold wine and imported beers at high prices. During the day, I remember going into a very old building with no fancy furniture but a pair of sofas, some been bag chairs and two book shelves on the sides. They had what I call "Hospital music" playing, all they sold was chocolate, carrot, vanilla cake and coffee. The place had old and young people; 4 pm.
I agree with the person that says, if You hate Brownsville, Browntown, Mexican border town, go up north, leave, Dont let the door hit your behind. You will NOT be missed since your contribution to this community was "0" you will be remember or forgotten as "0".
HARLINGEN — A massive job fair seeking to fill 450 positions is starting this morning for a two-day run at the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce.
Today and tomorrow, the Career Fair will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers are seeking to fill positions including medical assistant, paraprofessional, youth care workers and more at starting wages of between $12 and $14 per hour. Good luck. Brownsville does not help to get jobs.
