BISD: WE KNOW WHATSAPP, BUT WE'LL COOPERATE WITH FEDS; TSC SUSPENDED ATKINSON FROM DAY SHE WAS CHARGED

December 16, 2019

"The Brownsville Independent School District is aware of the allegations made against a current board member.

The district will make itself available to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in any investigations.

Brownsville ISD assures the community that our number one priority will continue to be our students and their academic excellence. The district will make no further comments on this matter."

The hearing for Judge Fernando Rodriguez, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Brownsville Division, to consider a sealed order came and went at 1:30 p.m. today and BISD board member accused on eight counts of of conspiracy and bribery with no indication on what was decided.

Courthouse watchers speculate that the government was asking the judge to instruct defense attorneys Noe Garza and Dale Roberston and to make no public statements to the press or social media, perhaps since it's an ongoing investigation and other defendants might be yet to be indicted.

Defense attorneys are able to attain information on the case (s) that might alert potential defendants in the case, they say.

Board counsel Baltazar Salazar was present at the hearing and conversed with Atkinson's lawyers outside the courtroom.

Atkinson did not appear in court as she had been ordered in a previous hearing. Her attorneys did not make any statements to reporters.

Meanwhile, sources at Texas Southmost College say that the administration suspended Atkinson with pay pending their own investigation before deciding whether to make it without pay. The college did not make any formal announcement.

If she was instructed by the judge to show up for court and she didn't, why did they not go arrest her and bring her in. That is a huge problems - no enforcement of the law. She has broken several conditions placed at her bond hearing already and she is still free as a bird and probably concocting another scheme and getting her comadres to back her up, including el tonto de
Baltazar Salazar. He is up to his knees or even a bit higher in trouble for his contributions to the board, which are illegal. Oh, and is that Sunshine Street address I read in one of the articles not the address for Balta's Mom home? The Salazar's have a record of using various addresses under which to hide.

Isn't Noe Garza, Aldela Garza husband? Isn't she one of Luis Saenz district attorneys? Wasn't Noe Garza also the prior attorney for Carlos Elizondo? These attorneys Noe Garza and Aldela Garza seems to come pretty close to the helms of "conflict of interest". It's no wonder that Judge Valdez, Fernando Rodriguez and Banales want to stay clear. These Visting Judges have a common practice of always coming to cover-up and save the corruption. This is my opinion

Why Noe Garza or Dale Robertson as attorneys Sylvia? Those guys will never beat the feds. Remember Noe Garza represented Ray Marchan. Not a good outcome in that case. You need someone like John Blaylock or for that matter Dick Deguerin to come in and save you against the feds. Federal judges dont run for re-election so they dont do favors.

I detest Sylvia Atkinson, but on TSC's suspending her with pay pending further investigation, it is simply standard procedure. Even the worst scoundrel is entitled to due process in personnel matters, and Atkinson is a perfect example. Certainly TSC's prompt action contrasts sharply with BISD's long established rule of sticking their head in the sand and hoping it will all go away without further tainting them. The state needs to intervene.
