Despite speculation in social media that the "authorities" were arresting someone at Texas Southmost College related in some way to the indictment of Dr. Sylvia Atkinson, sources at the college denied that is the case.
Instead, they say that the visit to the college by investigators with the Cameron Cameron County Sheriff's Department was at the Human Resources (Personnel) Office in doing their due diligence in the case of an adjunct professor alleged to have sexually assaulted a minor, his stepdaughter and that these alleged crime did not occur on the campus.The sources did not identify the professor, but stressed that neither the alleged crime or his arrest occur on the campus and that no TSC students were involved and that no students were exposed to any danger.
"The Sheriff investigators were there in response to this alleged sexual abuse case, and the visit was not related to the Atkinson case in federal court," they said.
