They are going to show pictures taken by local residents – not professional photographers – "punctuated" with SpaceX propaganda and NASA photos of Mars that propel the myth Elon Musk's pipe dream that sending manned missions to Mars from Boca Chica will be a reality.
Musk is already getting $35 million in state and local subsidies and $4 million in Cameron County tax abatements. They have paid lobbyists millions to further SpaceX's interests, including contributions to former Texas State Rep. The Oliveira and current District 27 State Senator Eddie Lucio.
The language the BMFA uses is deceiving and would put a weasel to shame. According to them, we're going to have a rocket land in our backyards. So far, the only thing that has risen at Boca Chica is a "hopper" that went up and came down, with a duration of less than 30 seconds.
