Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced on Monday that he will allow the state's stay-at-home order to lapse on April 30, at which point Texas will begin "phase one" of its reopening plan. Abbott said that all retail stores, restaurants, movie theaters and malls will be permitted to reopen on May 1 as long as occupancy is limited to 25%. Abbott emphasized the "importance of vulnerable populations remaining at home, if at all possible."

Phase two, which Texas will move to as early as May 18 if phase one is successful, will later expand occupancy to 50%, with further increases allowed in the future. Barbershops, salons, gyms and bars will remain closed for now, but could open as part of phase two in mid-May.

Abbott's executive order will supersede all local ordinances limiting business operations.

Who keeps rooting for this stay at home?...seriously I don't personally know one person who wants to continue this non-sense

Hopefully you won't realize it is not non-sense by having someone in your family affected with the virus. Yes, it is hard to not just be able to jump in the car and run around spending money we don't have, but one has to realize that facts are facts and orders are orders. I do say we have not business laying back on the restrictions so soon. I hope it does not backfire. I can see going to work, but the movies, gym, bars, mall, restaurants, etc is not a dire need. Use and spend quality time with the family and let your kids know that they are your first priority.
