TAMPS. GOV. SUES MEXICAN GOVT. FOR HELP WITH DEPORTEES

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

Tamaulipas Governor Francisco GarcĂa Cabeza de Vaca has filed a request before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) based on an urgent constitutional controversy that precautionary measures be issued for the protection of the health of Tamaulipas residents and migrants deported from United States who are dumped at the border.

In Nuevo Laredo, it is estimated that at least 80 deported migrants are taken the the international bridges and released into Mexico. At ny one time, there are between 200 to 250 deportees from Mexico and Central America in the city, officials said.

At La Casa del Migrante in Nuevo Laredo - since closed - at least 15 positive COVID-19 cases have been traced to a deported migrant who came from Houston. He fears similar outbreaks will occur all along the border where the deported migrants are dumped by the U.S. immigration authorities.

Cabeza de Vaca said that because the federal authority has not exercised its obligation of sanitary control with respect to the migrant population, the Tamaulipas government presented before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation ( SCJN)an appeal for an urgent constitutional controversy.

Cabeza de Vaca said he had twice requested the National Institute of Migration (INM) and the Ministry of the Interior (Segob) to provide attention to this problem, given the recent increase in deportations of migrants by of the United States and the health risk posed by shelters as the focus of coronavirus infections due to overcrowding.

The repeated requests from the state government refer to July 2019, when the government of the Republic, through the National Institute of Migration and the State of Tamaulipas, entered into an agreement by which the Federation was obligated to establish migrant shelters outside the entity, as well as to give proper attention and care to this vulnerable population, including their repatriation in the case of deportations from the United States.

Said agreement has not been fulfilled in its terms, the governor charged.

The constitutional controversy proposes that said agreement be executed as soon as possible, but also that the Federation be ordered to act proportionally and reasonably to the risk posed by the precarious conditions in which migrants find themselves  in the northern part of the country.

CORONAVIRUS

Piers Morgan Says Trump Is Failing America With Self-Serving Briefings.

"Donald Trump at the moment is failing the American people," warned Morgan.

Trump's daily coronavirus briefing rallies aren't even attempting to be relevant to the ongoing pandemic anymore. To the extent it even comes up, it's entirely Trump bragging about anything that's gone right and blaming others for everything that's gone wrong.

If you want to know the latest information about the emergency, you'll need to look elsewhere. These are Trump campaign rallies done for the strict purpose of energizing his base.
