But in the crazy days of Spring Break 1989, when a satanista cult kidnapped spring breaker Mark Kilroy and put the border on the international news pages, you couldn't avoid it. Sara - a Texas Southmost College student - was the madrina of the cult. Now, 30 years later, her relative Alejandra (niece?) is running for the Texas Southmost College board. Is this an attempt at atonement? And will history come full circle?)

The relative has no culpability for what was done. She should not be shamed for what was not done by her. She has nothing to atone for. Shame on you!
Juan, how many of our elected officials now, and over the years, have had family members that have committed crimes? We give jobs to criminals and we elect criminals. The local motto should be "We don't just accept corruption, we demand corruption". Alejandra may be an niece of a criminal, but you have tainted her by the connection. Now, you have an obligation to point out other officials who are tainted by having relatives who are criminals.

Still hard to believe that Sara, who was one of my students at TSC, was involved in this plot. One never gets to know people well enough. But what fault is it of this new young lady who now wants to contribute to TSC and get rid of someone by the voting booth and not a gun or caldera. And who is she running against? The lessor of two evils????
Not voting for her. We have so many other better people who could be better candidates!
Oh this is scared! Sara was believed to be a normal young girl until she snapped! Her mind when crazy. Will this candidate for TSC suffer the same health issues? Do we want to take that chance. Might run in the family.

I have not come to the blogs in a very long time and I see things do not change. This article on Alejandra Aldrete is plain obvious an attempt to create a unfavorable perception of a person who is willing to step up to the plate give voters a choice. This character assassination by past sins not committed by her, but by a family relative is perhaps printed based on an agenda to help an opponent who should be voted out. I will vote for her just because of the low blow tactic to discredit her. You have my vote Alejandra and you have nothing to apologize to anyone for someone else's sins. Hold you head up high tell the voters why you are seeking the position and what you would like to get done given the opportunity. You have my vote!

I NEVER thought I would say this but I agree with Pat. Anyone who has had the pleasure to meet and get to know Alejandra would agree that she is a wonderful human being. I’m sure if people looked hard enough into bloodlines, everyone of us would have a family member in our past that we would be ashamed to be related to. A person should not be judged by the sins of distant relatives.
I agree that a person shouldn’t be judged based on family members wrong doings but with that being said I still won’t vote for her.. Aside from having a fake personality she also lacks basic morals and has no business even running for the TSC board!!
