If you are, you might want to tell him to keep a low profile and avoid Cameron County Pct. 4 Constable process servers at all costs because they got some paper from a court which could land him behind bars before the Nov. 3 election.Cardenas, as we have learned, threw his hat in the ring and placed himself on the ballot August 17 for the four-year term Place 3 position of the Brownsville Independent School District now held by incumbent Phil Cowen.
Other challengers for that position include Argelia Miller and Jessica G. Gonzalez. About three weeks before the drawing for the ballot, the Texas Attorney General filed its papers to bring him in to court.
The Texas Attorney General filed a motion to confirm support arrearage July 23 in the family court of Asst. District Judge Gilbert Rosas and asks that notice be served by the constable's office on Cardenas to appear for a hearing October 23, 11 days before the Nov. 3 general election. The AG wants the court to order him to pay some $53,000 in arrears on child support payments.
This isn't the first time that our luckless Viro has been in the AG's sights. His troubles started in 2007 and over the years, he has been able to make a little over $8,000 in payments but has lagged far behind in his agreement. In a previous brush with that court he ended up donning and orange jumpsuit until he scraped a few bucks to be set loose.
Unless he has friends with deep pockets, Viro might end up before Rosas, who local attorneys say is often adamant with recalcitrant parents. His opponents in the race are probably sighing with relief that they won't have to debate the voluble Viro on the hustings.
Now the AG wants him to come in with every possible record of personal income including IRS forms, Social Security statements, pay stubs, etc., and fork over the dough for the October hearing.
Others ask: How can a person afford to finance a political race when he has a $53,000 monkey on his back? And why would anyone subject themselves to the inevitable public scrutiny of their personal finances by running in such a contentious public forum?
Our candidate has a long row to hoe with this little problem and running for a public board that controls a budget exceeding $500 million, votes on the employment of more than 6,500 workers, and looks after the education and welfare of some 40,000 BISD students right about now may not have been the most judicious decision he could have made.

Why doesn't Viro Cardenas just borrow money from Commissioner Jessica T. Kalifa. She publicly said she is worth 4 million us dollars. Lending her personal chofer Viro Cardenas to pay off his debt should be a drop in the bucket for her. Viro is also the guy that takes Jessica her groceries and bathes her dogs. Don't know how she is not reporting what she pays Viro? The Hernandez are intimate friends with Viro and with the mail in ballots they probably guaranteed him the seat in return they get all the printing shirts and memorabilia from the BISD.

On McHale's blog he writes negative comments on the slate that Erasmo, Elizondo, Cardenas and Leal are building....Jerry McHale fails to mention his nephew!(by his wife Claudia's family) We all now that Olivo is part of that slate.

He let his constituents down by cutting a deal. BISD was right to prevent him from being around our children. He hates my sister instead of himself for leaving the board. I see AOBE representatives loving the attention on his show, but they don't realize that 90% of AOBE members do not like that these representatives support him on his live show. It's embarrassing that they appear with him. They complain alongside Erasmo about how bad the BISD is, but have they even send written concerns to our AOBE lawyers? I think not. Anyone can complain and complain, but actions speak louder than words and their inaction is what is disappointing. If you love your kids, you must keep this guy from having any type of power."
Seems like that jerk Atkinson is right because Erasmo has not responded. I believe Erasmo's sister Melissa is the sister he is talking about. She is legit and helps the raza of Brownsville. Olivo has a video out there and we deserve the right to view it. He got arrested because of it and plead guilty for exposing himself and relieving himself in front of a female minor. Erasmo had to molested him when he was a kid. Sick family!!! Erasmo, your nephew Olivo won't win especially if you are backing him. That is why McHale left him out of your slate.

And we wonder why people don't vote? The choices that we have can be better served with the whole board being removed by TEA, but people are just too afraid to bring it up for fear of losing their job. I witnessed many of my colleague lose their jobs through demotion because he or she dared to open his or her mouth against any injustice at BISD. We are all a bunch of idiots who won't speak up when we have so much to say - including me.
