Everyone that puts comments says how bad and how poor, and how a bunch of lazy mexicans make up Brownsville. Yet, the majority still live here. I've read a couple of national articles about the poorest towns in the USA and San Benito is the only valley town that appears in those articles. The town has grown, they have the best brisket restaurant in the whole RGV, the birth place of an INTERNATIONAL figure such as Baldemar Huerta AKA Freddy Fender. Most San Benitonians are GOOD RGV persons The bad thing I see about San Benito (and the only thing) is they are in between Brownsville and Harlingen, most of the time they don't get the credit they deserve, the town constantly competes against Harlingen and Los Fresnos. They should stop that. They have enough to stand on their own.
