Please forgive me if I point out an easily-correctable verb-subject error in your "Team Brownsville" piece in today's Herald.
In the lead paragraph you say that "Team Brownsville will be recognized . . . . . for 'their' . . .work." Well, "Team Brownsville" is singular and should be modified by a singular verb . . . "its."

"Their" is plural and would modify something like . . ." . ..two Team Brownsvilles . . ." will be recognized for "their."
Verb-subject agreement is important to good writing. It would make yours better.

The Herald butchers the English language constantly. This is nothing new.
What's new? When I was teaching, I used the Brownsville Herald to verify complete understanding of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, excetera,
and even my 1st year ESL students could find the many mistakes. What is so sad is that even the local TV news channels have the same problem -"If I had went..." and "I should have came..." These are professionals that need to make sure their printed material is perfect.
A worst speller is half coco mutt retard! Ese guey only went up to 6th grade special Ed! Pendejo looked silly wearing his yellow helmet while inside the small school bus! Hahahahaha!
