RESURRECTION DAY, LIFE SPRINGS AGAIN IN LOCAL GARDENS

(Ed.'s Note: There is no question that the February freeze decimated (and desiccated) local gardens, including hardy citrus like lemons and orange trees. Some residents are delaying pruning the trees to see if they will recover.
The yellowed lemon tree above is said to have borne so much fruit  that neighbors would come in with grocery bags to harvest it. The owners are hoping the tree will pull through, but it's iffy.

But rose bushes survived the freeze, losing leaves but sprouting new blooms. It's good to see our beautiful friends recover from the deadly cold. Nature battles back.)

Ojalá y te me borraras de mis sueños
Y poder desdibujarte
Ojalá y pudiera ahogarte en un charco
Lleno de rosas y amor

The most salient wave of restrictive legislation is now moving through legislatures in Arizona, Florida, New Hampshire, and Texas. The first two states have had relatively wide-open voting laws in the past; Republicans in Arizona and Florida previously supported no-excuse voting by mail and provisions for automatically receiving mail ballots via a permanent registration system.

New Hampshire and Texas, on the other hand, already have some of the most restrictive voting laws in the country. But all four are moving in the same restrictive direction now.
