Is it a tempest in a teapot and the usual small-town election campaign dirt?
Whatever it may seem to you, opponents of San Benito commissioner Carol Lynn Sanchez, running for reelection to Place 4, are alleging that she helped her cousin Moises Sanchez get a refund for a $450 towing cost after leaving his semi-truck illegally parked and unattended on the side of the road.
Officer Oscar Leal wrote in his report May 11, 2019 that attempts to reach the owner of the truck were unsuccessful and a tower was called to remove it from the side of the road.
According to a police report Leal filed then Moises Sanchez arrived at the scene as his 18 wheeler was being towed and he told the officer that his cousin commissioner Carol Sanchez was "pissed" at the situation and was gonna have the city pay him back the towing.
Leal reported that he told Moises Sanchez that the Kenworth Motor Semi was reported parked illegally on 1701 Industrial Way, near a McCoy's Lumber Company and that he was enforcing a city ordinance related to abandoned vehicles.
About six month later, on Sept. 19, the City of San Benito check ledger shows that the city issued a reimbursement check to Moises Sanchez for the towing.
Did the commissioner run interference for her cousin and have the taxpayers of the city pay for the towing of what police said was a violation of the city ordinance?

San Benito, the dirtiest, dustiest town in the Rio Grande valley, is what it is - an eyesore full of Mexicans who believe they are not Mexicans.
But their sunbaked brown skim color betrays them.

Well one thing is for sure. The city did pay Moises Sanchez Carol’s Brother 450 Bucks. I believe it will be up to the city Mayor and commissioners to find out why was that checked issued and for what reason.

@1:54 PM, thank you for info! Aver si Luis Saenz will cave to political pressure and drop the case? Carol is a real bitch and reminds me of that other bitch nut case in Raymondville.
Thank you so much for the informative blog. This case is dropped due to political pressure, and this is not a good thing.
