SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE APPOINTS DOMINGUEZ TO SWIFT

AUSTIN-- Tuesday, Speaker Dade Phelan announced the appointment of State Representative Alex Dominguez (D-Brownsville) to the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT) Advisory Committee.

"It is a great honor to represent the House of Representatives on the SWIFT Advisory Committee," said Dominguez. "This is a great opportunity to work with stakeholders across the state and at the Texas Water Development Board to prepare for our current and future water needs. I am committed to work to preserve our critical water resources for generations of Texans to come."

Representative Dominguez previously served on the House Natural Resources Committee and played a critical role in managing the state's water resources in the 86th legislative session.

Representative Dominguez also established the Cameron County Flood Control District which involved managing water resources and infrastructure to prevent flooding in the Rio Grande Valley.

"I am proud to appoint Representatives Dominguez, Harris, and Middleton to the SWIFT Advisory Committee," said Speaker Dade Phelan. "Having previously served on this committee myself, I know firsthand the commitment and dedication it takes to ensure this vital committee is effective and productive when it comes to water planning, development, and conservation. I have full faith in these members and their understanding of our state’s water challenges and look forward to their development of creative solutions for a rapidly growing Texas.”

SWIFT was created by the Texas Legislature to provide affordable, ongoing state financial assistance for projects in the state water plan. Its advisory committee is tasked with making recommendations to the Texas Water Development Board about the use of money in the fund, in addition to reviewing the operation, function, and structure of SWIFT and making recommendations to the board on how it can be as impactful as possible.

Seems a lackluster appointment.

There are more important, influential committees. Maybe Dominguez needs to be more assertive. Gringos in charge up Austinway dole out crumbs to the Mexican legislators.

Fact.

Texas House approves bill that would allow people to carry a gun without a license

Most all House members from the RGV voted yes to this bill. Forgot about El Paso,TX.

Its ok, now somebody can fight back and in the RGV there are many ex-military people so now they also can fight back and defend the local citizens gracias...

Ranked last on income, poverty (first), ranked last on technology, raked last on enviroment, ranked last on mobility (traffic), ranked last on housing, and certainty last on smart city officials. cities looks across every aspect of a city’s operations and uses technology to improve outcomes. Smart Economy, Smart Environment, Smart Living, Smart Mobility, and Smart People.

This city ranks on the top 5 on salaries for city officials. Just look at the graphics. THIS IS INSANE to have any office in the city making over 1 million dollars in salaries and with only 5 people in the department. THIS IS INSAME, and to add salt to injury they spend another million on consultation fees on how to improve.

Traffic how does the city justify hiring an traffic engineer making over 90,000 a year? By how many cars on a red light are waiting for a green light? If you want to know here it 20 cars, and that's on EVERY traffic light on main roads. 20,20 20 cars waiting for the traffic light to turn GREEN!

Want more millions spend on bike trails which should have gone to streets improvements and flooding. NO NO NO bike trails are more important, another smart decision?? Of course NOT.

ELECTIONS ARE CLOSE MAKE A CHANGE AND FOR THE BETTER DO IT NOW !
