BACK AN EX WHO SHOT AT YOUR DAD, REFUND CUZ'S TRAFFIC TICKETS, NOW NAME PART OF SB CEMETERY AFTER YOUR SON

To paraphrase Pliny the Elder: "There is always something new out of San Benito (Africa).

And for some reason, it always seems to involve city commissioner Carol Lynn Sanchez.

You remember Sanchez. 

She is the one who covered for her ex-husband David Lee Hernandez after he took a shot at her father. That case is still winding its way through the courts and was delayed after prosecutors not serve the defendant or the victim a subpoena to appear in court and her father hid from victim advocates even though they knew he was inside his home.

And during her recent campaign for reelection, her opponents alleged that she helped her cousin Moises Sanchez get a refund for a $450 towing cost after leaving his semi-truck illegally parked and unattended on the side of the road. Moses Sanchez had sworn to the police officer that her cuz would help him out and he would get his money back. Sure enough, the city refunded the $450. 

Well, now we learn that the rest of her colleagues at the city commission have made sure that Sanchez and Hernandez – whether their liaison is on or off – will always have a peaceful plot of land in the city's cemetery after they named the "baby lawn" section of it after the couple's late infant son Cayden Lee Hernandez.

That was included in the recent approval of cemetery lot prices located on either side of the Freddy Fender Memorial at the city cemetery.

Now, we've heard of streets and buildings being named after people, and sometimes they name a day in someone's honor. But burial plots named after the dead child of a city commissioner and her (on and off) battling ex-mate?
