MEXICAN GOVERNMENT ADMITS MATA KILLING FIELDS EXIST

Five years after the discovery of the site, the Mexican government has finally accepted the existence of an extermination center for people in the area known as La Bartolina, Tamaulipas, from where it has collected half a ton of charred bones.

The head of the National Search Commission (CNB), Karla Quintana Osuna, reported that federal and state prosecutors have worked for five years in processing of the land, located in Matamoros, about 12 kilometers from Brownsville, Texas, United States.

“From 2017 to May 28, at least 500 kilograms of calcined bone remains have been recovered. At first, the Tamaulipas Attorney General's Office intervened, and for a little more than two years, the one who has been processing that place of extermination is the Attorney General's Office, together with the National Search Commission, ”said the federal official.

The corpse incineration and destruction center was discovered by elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) and the state Attorney General's Office in April 2016, during the six-year term of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, and with five months to go so that the administration of the Tamaulipas governor, Egidio Torre Cantú, ended.

Newspaper reports from El Mañana de Reynosa published at the time indicate that military personnel found the site on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, and two days later they detected another at the foot of a lagoon, near Bagdad beach.

According to federal information, the site was allegedly operated by the Gulf Cartel since 2009. Members of organized crime took kidnapped people to this area; there they were tortured, murdered, cremated and their bodies buried.

La Bartolina ejido is an area of land with some sorghum crops, but there are no more agricultural plots due to the salinity of the land near the Gulf of Mexico.

Collectives of relatives of disappeared persons in Tamaulipas have found 50 clandestine centers for the cremation of bodies, also called "kitchens" in the south, center and north of the state.

The investigations carried out by the members of the groups have led them to determine that acts of torture, kidnapping, mass homicides, training of criminals, clandestine graves and the spreading of ashes in bodies of water were recorded in those areas. Therefore, they decided to call them killing centers.

In Tamaulipas, legal and illegal armed groups have disappeared 11,443 people; 2,241 disappeared in Matamoros, according to the national registry of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob).

The years with the most cases were 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2016; In these 4 years, 1,079 disappeared persons were accumulated. The age range of the victims goes from 15 to 34 years; 78.58 percent are men and 21.37 percent women.

Regarding the nationality of the disappeared persons, 87.55 percent are Mexican men and women. However, the registry shows 52 cases of US citizens, five Guatemalans, four Hondurans, four Salvadorans, three Cubans, and one Nicaraguan. In 209 complaints, the origin of the victim was not specified.

An abortion ban being proposed in the city of Edinburg is unlikely to be enforced, if passed, as the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office stated it would not prosecute individuals who violate it.

In a statement issued Monday, the district attorney’s office said it did not believe the proposed ordinance was consistent with state or federal laws, and therefore would not be enforcing the restrictions set within it.

“The District Attorney’s Office has been made aware of the City of Edinburg’s proposed ordinance related to outlawing abortion and declaring the City as a sanctuary for the unborn,” the statement began. “In light of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade, the proposed ordinance does not appear to be consistent with either state or federal law. As such, should Edinburg, or any other city, approve the proposed ordinance as is and without substantive change in state or federal law, the District Attorney’s Office would not pursue individuals or organizations who exercise their rights under current law.”

Hey, Juan, is True Wimp Diego Garcia, III handicapped or what? The city's worst blogger wrote this -

"The American flag is probably the most recognizable national symbol on the planet."

Well, nevermind the Statue of Liberty, for one, although Little Diego does bail out of his nonsense by saying "probably," which undercuts his own sentence.

There should be an IQ test for bloggers. True Wimp Diego, Booby WC and El Gordo de Mickey D's Jim Barton would not pass muster.

fact.

When I grow up I wanna be just like limp dick Duardo, posting juvenile comments on all the Brownsville blogs. Blogger envy is real guys! Obviously, there are no available jobs for long-in-the tooth 75 year old wannabe journalists.

"Go Pedro?" Duardo doesn't even know Pedro. He's just throwing out a Mexican name to pander to racism.

You mean Mata officials have always known about the killing field BUT were too afraid to intervene for fear of being a victim? This is nothing new to those in the law enforcement field who keep intelligence on cartels. Oh, but this is Mexico where the majority of officials are corrupted, period!
