WATER, WATER, EVERYWHERE, BUT NO BRUCIAK IN SIGHT...

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

At 4 a.m. the phone calls started coming.

"We have water in the house."

"The water in the resaca is overflowing and getting in my apartment."

"The drainage ditches are overflowing. The streets are flooded."

Welcome to Lake Brownsville.

Try as hard as they could, city commissioners like Jessica Tetreau could not get a hold of Public Utility Board CEO John Bruciak to see whether the utility could move the water from the resacas on its way to the ship channel.

"No one answered at PUB and Bruciak, who lives on South Padre Island, wasn't picking up his phone," said one. "There was nothing I could do to help the people who called."

And so we have the perfect combination for a disaster: an inadequate drainage system in Brownsville and absentee utility executives who could care less. Instead, we will wait until the water seeps away, the mosquitoes come, and then we'll forget about it until the next rains arrive.

In this case, the city has received about 5 inches of rain in the entire month of July, most of it in the last three days.

However, the cormorants were having a blast off Resaca Drive. The drainage system, they figured, was for them, the boids...

But the silver lining, according to commissioner Rose Gowen, is that none of the bike trails flooded. Ain't it great?

How close to sea-level is Brownsville? Why agonize, Montoya?

Answer that question and your fiendishly boring flooding stories will cease.

Welcome to Brownsville

The poor are powerless. Assumed you knew that by now.

Excess water is better than no water at all.

The idiots at PUB and COB spent millions of dollars “vacuum cleaning” a couple of select resacas. This was their brilliant plan to relieve flooding in Brownsville. They choose this stupid plan with much fanfare because it was ecological right thing to do. The correct thing to do would be actually dredging the resacas which would have deepened the resacas creating more room for run off water. You are nothing but morons and thief’s city commissioners and PUB management. If you want to see the results, go look at the bucket of rust machine behind the zoo.

Every time I see my dog take a steaming crap in the yard I stand in awe as a witness to the miracle of Republican birth.

What is Republican City Commissioner John Cowen saying about the crux of this story, Juan? Ask him, maybe?

Gotta go bury my dog's GOP droppings. Republicans somehow discovered a new way to get to Earth. Interesting shit there, son.

:::::::::THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE OFFICE OF THE CAMERON COUNTY JUDGE’S OFFICE :::::

The Cameron County Judge’s Office does not want residents of Santa Maria, Santa Rosa, La Feria, Los Fresnos, and all surrounding Colonias, that are experiencing flood-water in their respective areas to please not call the County Judge’s Office to complain and bitch! You should have thought twice about building in a shit-hole area that floods to save a buck! County Judge Eddie (el enano) Treviño is busy greasing his hair so he can look like Eddie Munster. He does not have time to hear your bitching. He recommends to not be pinches and relocate to a respectable part of the County…. Or better yet, Bitchers should move out of Cameron County! He does not want to hear bitching of rising waters…. Just praise his enano ass. And do not forget to vote for him again, he has great greased hair, he works hard to maintain it…. Even though the hairline is now past his orejas 👂.

:::::: THIS CONCLUDES THE PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:::::

“Remember My Soul” unearths the history of Sephardic Jews in South Texas and explores how their contributions to regional customs and culture have shaped the identity of people in the borderlands. Over the summer, “Remember My Soul” was requested by the Library of Congress to add to its collection on crypto-Judaic studies. The film screened at the San Antonio Film Festival in August 2019 and later this month at the CineSol Film Festival on South Padre Island.

Omar Lucio for Congress……..He can fix what’s broken in the RGV…WATER is our most valuable resource. Let’s work on making it valuable for us.

Con tanta agua en las calles, el Enano de Eddie Treviño no sale por miedo de que se valla a ahogar…. He needs his Donald Duck floaty.

Eddie Treviño, or as he is known by his ex’s, Chile de niño, is an arrogant bastard that does not take or answer calls. Not even the calls of those that helped him last time. I went to your office, Eddie, and your secretary, who was eating pan dulce and said you were not in…. That was after I called and left 2 messages….. I didn’t bother to tell her that your car was in the parking lot, you little weasel. I know you will be calling for help soon…… I’ll wait till then

Welcome to the city of Brownsville where downtown rehabilitation and bike trails are top priority. Forget about proper drainage issues and street maintenance. Keep electing people who are for themselves and pet projects and not for the good of the community.

Omar 4 rep is probably a good idea as he was prolly around when they were making the valley an agricultural wonder of the world.

Lmao…and y’all KEEP voting for the same dumb asses (democRATS) to rEpReSeNt you! Weak and distracted leadership will get you nowhere.. The true definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Wake up and walk away.

After Spain and Portugal expelled many of their Jewish residents in the 1490s, many Jews from Spain and Portugal migrated to the Americas.
The Rio Grande Valley was a prime location for resettlement as their surnames congealed with life as was expected. Many prominent families of this community owe their success and prosperity to the initial settlers of Abramic ancestry. The RGV more closely represents the twelve tribes of Yajob, than any indigenous peoples from pre-Colombian south and Central America.

Omar Lucio would be a fantastic choice for congress in the next election. A puppet sock smiling demo-yes-man al-la wanna wanna……oh and by the way…y’all know that it was reported that congressional candidate Armando Villalobos was visiting Israel at the expense of an influential PAC prior to his downfall as our representative from south texas to Washington DC.

Keep it up Brownsville…..your strings are being pulled from generations of string pullers.

A friend of a friends great grandmother said she overheard a conversation where the former sheriff invented sneakers and a shoe company paid handsomely for the copyright of the shoe. In addition, three other super inventions were about to be presented to the public.
