(Ed.'s Note: VFW Post #2035 held a flag-burning ceremony Saturday. Post vice-commander David Champion (right) and an assistant place used and torn flags into a barrel and dispose of them in the patio behind the main building. Many organizations bring their torn and used flags for proper disposal to the post where they periodically hold the ceremony. It is but one of the community services performed by the VFW, among them providing an honor guard for veterans' funerals. We thank one of our seven readers for this photo.)
